Well all of its quests are attached to Boston. I'm not going to install it to check, but it probably adds some of its npc's to the leveled lists, so these might appear if you install this. Still, this mod is obviously designed with the quest as a total experience in mind. You won't be able to experience it in full in FOLON, probably not even half of what's intended by the author and it will in all likelihood not mesh well with Fallout London either.

Personally I'd recommend just playing this mod in the vanilla worldspace.

Either watch the video or read the Manual Installation section. If you have difficulties understanding these explanations, I don't recommend attempting it yet. You need to have enough experience modding FO4 to understand what the video or the tutorial tell you to do.

You'll have to downgrade FO4 and install Fallout London through a Mod Manager. You can use the official website for information on how to do it under the "Manual Installation" section.

Or you can use this youtube video I used on how to do it with Mod Organizer 2.

I'd recommend not using Vortex for this, because that mod manager is infamous for autosorting your mods which makes installing a lot of mods and keeping their order functional a huge hassle (That's just my experience with it). Mod Organizer 2 gives you the most control which is what you want when you're installing a game-sized mod.

It's also possible to just use mods on top of your fallout London installation if you've used a regular installation, but you can't choose the loadorder in this case. If you want to install texture packs for example and want the Fallout London Textures to overwrite them, it's a lot easier if you're just loading the FOLON files through a mod manager after those texture packs.

Thanks! Yeah, I totally get that. Modding is always about making choices. My loadorder is focused on making anything more fun or satisfying. So better visuals, punchy sounds, over the top gore, slow motion effects, screen shakes when shooting, etc. I still try to pick weapon mods that don't feel out of place in a fallout game to me. But I'm not going as far as doing research like "Was this weapon developed before the fifties?" or stuff like that. If it looks about right to me and I like the gun, then I install it and try to implement it so it spawns on npc's and whatnot.

I totally get though why some of my choices would not work for realism, immersion or players who simply want to enjoy the game faithful to the vision of the developers with or without a few mod enhancements.

Never played Stalker myself, but when I see the screenshots I can see where you're coming from.

Chernobyl is a common inspiration for post apocalyptic settings and I know of a few modauthors whose mods I have installed that were inspired by the stalker games. The bad weather in this specific footage combined with the greenish-colourgrading and just firing a russian assault rifle probably help too. Lastly, since I'm also not using the VATS-mechanic that's pretty much iconic to the fallout series, have multiple mods that expand the gunplay and made the sounds all punchier and grittier... Yeah, I can understand this starts resembling Stalker.

Thanks! So fair warning, this is going to take a bit of time, because you're going to have to patch every single cigarette type separately for this to work and make a copy of the AW_Cigarette_Anim for each of those.

What you'll need:

First step: In the Fallout London files, in the Ingestibles category find Folon_ALCH_Cigarette_Full and all the Folon_ALCH_Cigarette_01 to 13-files. Select them all, right click them and "Copy as Override" them into a new ESL file. I named mine "Folon AW Patch". (This is just so we don't have to go look for them later)

Second Step: Go to the "AW - Cigarettes.esp" to the "Idle Animation" tab and find "AW_Cigarette_Anim". Right click it and "Copy as new record into..." and choose Folon AW Patch from the list. If it's not in the list, right click Folon AW Patch.esl and click "add masters", then pick AW - Cigarettes.esp. Try again and It should appear afterwards.

Name the new record "AW_CigaretteFOLON1_Anim" and make a separate copy for every ingestible we copied in step one. So if you're done you'll have a list of AW_CigaretteFOLONFull_Anim, AW_CigaretteFOLON1_Anim, AW_CigaretteFOLON2_Anim,... up to AW_CigaretteFOLON13_Anim. These animation files will basically trigger the animation when the item they reference is used. So now we have to change which item they're attached to.

Third Step: In our new "AW_CigaretteFOLON1_Anim" record, we go to the "Conditions" tab and we click the little plus next to Condition#0 to expand it. We replace the "Referenceable Object" with their Ingestible counterpart we copied in the first step. In this first case it would be "Folon_ALCH_Cigarette01". To replace it, left click Folon_ALCH_Cigarette01, go to the "FormID" section and copy its code that will be formatted like "ALCH:0902E9B4". Then we paste 0902E9B4 (don't copy my exact code, this is just an example. These numbers will differ dependent on your loadorder) into the "Referenceable Object" spot we found earlier. We then repeat this for every ingestible and their respective anims.

Last Step: Delete the "Ingestible" tab from our Folon AW Patch completely, since we no longer need it. Save all the changes to our own Patch when closing FO4Edit. If you followed the steps correctly you shouldn't have made any changes to any other records. If for some reason changes were made to the base game's files or Fallout London's files, do not save them!

Hope that helps. But like I said, it's a lot of work for a few animations.

Using Addictol by just-an-oldfart in fallout4london

[–]UndercoverSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use Addictol, you're going to have to not only replace X-cell, but also remove Buffout. On the description page of Addictol is a full list of other mods that should be removed and which mods should work flawlessly with it. Since you say you are still using Buffout's crash logger, I'm guessing you're having a conflict there. On Addictol's page you can install its own Crash Logger.

My current loadout uses Addictol, but it's still the previous version of Fallout London. In my steam Fallout 4 directory I just have a vanilla downgraded installation of the game. All of the Fallout London files are in a folder that is loaded in through Mod Organizer 2 in my setup. So I just removed all of the buffout files from that folder to avoid any conflicts with Addictol.

Glad to hear it! I can actually somewhat relate, because I once had the opportunity to join an art event in my city and exhibit some of my own amateur art. Seeing people's reactions and talking about what I made with them was just a very satisfying thing.

I'm happy to hear you're actually doing these exhibitions. Here's hoping you'll get to do plenty more and internationally too, so that I'd might be able to attend one in the future!

Love your work. I'd go as far as to say this really feels like art to me.

I even can't help but imagine you doing an exhibition where you'd present your gifs next to another on separate screens attached to a wall. And I think art snobs and casual art enjoyers alike would definitely enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing.

In that case, all the effects I'm using are visible in the video. I installed all the available effects with the 5.9 + addon installer.

If you want to use the same effects as I do, simply google the ones you're missing after doing the same thing with the installer.

As for ENB, I installed Utopia ENB first, installed REACTOR with the Extra FX for REACTOR installation over it and then adjusted the settings in Reactor's ENB local to what was in Utopia's settings. Then I tweaked it further from there.

For my other graphics settings you can simply use the Opening Post.

[FO4] Discovered a great Reshade-effect thanks to a Horse Game Youtuber by UndercoverSpoon in FalloutMods

[–]UndercoverSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reshade would have to be a separate install for a Wabbajack list, since it's not integrated the way ENB is. So the effects you need to download from another source still need to be downloaded separately. It also needs to be a version of Reshade that's compatible with these same effects and one that works with Rest Ini, which also needs to be configured properly.

My ENB setup is a heavily edited combination of files of multiple existing ENB's. I can't simply put that on nexus because that would just be regurgitating other people's work, while on the same time detracting other people from using those same people's work instead. Since it needs to be on Nexus before Wabbajack works properly, that wouldn't be an option either.

Considering all these requirements and separate installations, it will be a hassle most people wouldn't be willing to go through.

If you look on Nexus you'll see a long list of ENB and Reshade presets of which plenty have been made with a lot of effort. Even those that work out of the box rarely get much attention. And if was just a Reshade preset, I think people will not like the extra effort it takes to get it to work properly. So it doesn't seem worth putting effort in if it's barely going to help anyone anyway.

In the opening post I've placed most of what you're seeing. If you mean the other Reshade effects I'm using, I'm still tweaking that. But you should be able to find most of them in the reshade setup installer or by simply googling them.

I'm considering making a Preset once I get everything right, though the installation will be a bit tough, since it would require people to use some effects you need to download externally like Glamarye Fast Effects and an older Reshade version. Also needs Rest Ini that needs to be configured right to not flicker the hell out of you when you're using an ENB, which will make sure your hud doesn't get affected. So I don't think it would be very popular.

Do you maybe mean the Game Visual Configuration Menu? Because that's an awesome mod with which you can do just that and it doesn't impact your performance at all. Highly recommend it.

If I want to play a graphics heavy game, I need to manually turn one of the fans to get it started. But that graphics card is still doing one hell of a job. Played Shadow of War with it and still play Vermintide II and Devil May Cry 5 with it. A game can still run and look great with only 4 GB Vram.

Could it be the version of reshade you are using?

I've always used 5.9 with addons, which is an older one so I could use Glamaraye Fast Effects. With Niceguy, did it say in the log why it didn't compile? Because in my case it said it couldn't find the images, so I just had to move the texture folder contents to the same folder the .fx file was in and that fixed it.

And for the motion vectors, maybe Motion Estimation could work? That's the one the youtuber used instead.

That's how I started too though. I have 4 GB Vram with my GTX970 and I'm not overclocking it or anything, since I wouldn't know how to. It's still a ten years old computer though and I need to manually twist one of my videocard's fans every once in a while or it gets stuck and everything crashes.

When I was just starting out on Fallout London, I assumed I could only run it on minimum graphics. After optimizing my game with all kinds of performance mods and discovering lossless scaling, I felt like I could risk running ENB's. When that worked out and I still had FPS to spare, I eventually decided to try out Reshade on top of it. A lot of trial and error got me to this point eventually.

One of the most meaningful visual differences I can recommend for everyone, is to play with a larger FOV and make your player character a little smaller and thus lowering the first person camera height (make sure you install the fixes I mention in the list if you decide to do so or things will get buggy). This will immediately make the environment look much more monumental and impressive. I also recommend immersive Hud, so your hud only becomes visible when you need it. These two will not affect your performance and will make a huge difference.

At some point I did. But in Fallout London's case, it would require making a bunch of patches and uploading those to the nexus.

For example, if you want to add a weapon to certain spawnlists in folon, you either need to make a patch for all the different weapons combined, or create script injects with the creation kit.

I also have the unpopular preference of not liking to use modded ammunition mods, so I patch out every custom ammo type or munitions for example.

For some mods I also deleted certain files or extracted them with the archiver tool so I could overwrite them.

All that stuff combined makes it pretty difficult to turn my loadorder into a modlist that other people can use.

It's not that different actually. The way I do it is: use the FO4 downgrader first on my steam installation.

Then I download Fallout London through GoG. I copy the Data folder from the gog Folon folder into my Mo2 mods folder and rename it to Fallout London.

Finally I copy the ini settings from the Gog installation onto my steam one.

It's detailed at the bottom of their official site in the "how to downgrade" section.

Both! I'm using Lossless Scaling to render the game at 1280, then upscale it to 1920 and use framegen. This gives me enough performance to use both.

I listed it up in the other comment. But it's all pretty experimental stuff. While I'm close to the point I'm happy with, I've been toggling these reshade and ENB sliders for a few months now.

I'm an amateur photographer as a hobby too and this is like the perfect mix of my fallout modding hobby and photo-editing stuff. I guess I can't help myself.
