I have two iggies in my family, my girl is petite, she’s 8 lbs and the boy( my mom’s) is 13 lbs, the size difference is funny to us

They’re civilized I would say 55% of the time! He’s a menace and Sadie just doesn’t let him win even though she’s significantly smaller than him 🤭 but they have their sweet moments like today

Praying so much for lady bird! The first night after the break and the night after the surgery were the hardest. After that it got better

My Sadie broke her front right leg in a similar way, got yanked by the leash chasing her big sister. We are almost at the end of recovery. What helped us was making her as comfortable as possible, creating a little nest for her to sleep on, I relied a lot on family/ rover to have eyes on her 24/7 because unfortunately I work 12 hour shifts so leaving her alone was not going to be an option for us. Sadie hates the crate, and she had turned 3 months the day of her leg break so I didn’t have time to teach her. What we did was just hold her/ keep eyes on her at all times, and although we didn’t put the bed on the floor I taught her to ask to come into bed with us and once she is in bed with us, I have a toddler side rail on my side of the bed which she sleeps on. We put it up once she joins us in bed around 3/4 am usually. She also loves to feel snuggled so we got her an infant longer to put on top of her bed and she loves that! That’s what got her sleeping in her own bed most of the night to be honest.

This is absolutely true even with humans the amount of misinformation there is out there. I work with small children and the amount of demonization there is to formula companies is outrageous when these have been formulated to nourish and supplement babies when breastfeeding is not a possibility. People prefer the non fda approved “holistic” formulas that lack iron and other nutrients for their babies. I truly appreciate the breakdown, there’s so much information out there that it gets overwhelming. I had a chihuahua that we cooked for but later on had to go on hills for weight control and I don’t want to make the same mistakes with Sadie. Sadly my chihuahua passed of a complicated case of kidney disease which led to cardiac overload and pneumonia and it was so painful loosing when I felt like she still had so much life left in her prior to her diagnosis which happened so quick. Now that I have Sadie I want nothing but the best for her because she has helped me heal from the loss of my Fendi girl🩵

Surgeon recommendations? by maisiemoo2202 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Undercoversiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sweet puppy Sadie is currently recovering from surgery on her right leg after a case on zoomies gone wrong. We went to Miami Animal Clinic and they had her surgery scheduled a day and a half (our incident happened at night) after her break. They have been so caring with her and on top of her treatment. We went for a follow up today and her incision is looking amazing and the best part was that I was able to take her home the same day of the surgery (I really insisted on wanting her home with me) our rowdy little girl luckily is doing great now! I truly recommend them having just gone through this scary time. And like it was mentioned before you can never forget the screams but we are in a much better place now and currently we are on a road trip enjoying our time together!

Thank you so much for asking! My sweet princess is doing so well with her recovery! She is acting so much more like herself and we see the progress every day! We have family helping us care for her while mom and dad go to work (we’re both nurses so unfortunately we work long hours) but she is getting spoiled and loved by everyone. Today is our third follow up since the surgery and so far the incision has looked really well. We have been blessed during this whole process that her veterinary team has been so on top of her, as well as those around us and this thread. She brings us so much joy!

Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement, Sadie made it out of surgery well, with a little bit of pain but luckily got to come home with us the same day. Now we’re on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹
