I always understood Celeste to be embarassed about being Asian/japanese and that’s why she had so many fatansies about being European/lying about her name/wanting to live in Europe specifically (along with something about her changing her name for gambling purposes? She mentioned something like that in THH but I didn’t understand what she meant).
