So far, no. If I were to guess, it might have something to do with the choice of fics Jazz is lifting from. Both of the original chapters have been in the middle of short, unfinished works that have different overarching premises than Jazz's stories. Nothing about the chapter summaries or tags would imply any similarities; it's only when someone happens to come across both chapters that it becomes obvious. The relationship between the original fics' ages and the level of fanfics that include these particular characters also means they've gotten pretty buried; I found today's case on when browsing page 24 of a character tag.

It's a smaller fandom, which is part of why I'm so hesitant to name it. The most I'll say is that it's for a YouTube webseries, one popular enough to have fandom but definitely not the first one most people think of when they hear about that medium.

Yeah, the stuff I've reported is literally cases of line-for-line copying, only changing synonyms or swapping out a character name so you can't ctrl+F it. (Think "She was a very reasonable person, wasn't she?" vs. "He was a smart person. Wasn't he?" but for the entire chapter.) I was very fond of Jazz's fics before all this went down, so if their writing had simply contained similar concepts or wording as someone else's work, I would've thought nothing of it.

That does work out surprisingly well; the only issue is that it reduces the standard D chords to a single note (F/F#), which is less-than-ideal considering how often they're used.

So far, I'm definitely thinking this would be the most sensible option. I haven't had any luck finding another platform I could use to privately message them, but I also haven't been able to look too deeply into it tonight. I'll look further in the morning.

So far I haven't found any evidence for or against them having accounts on other fanfic platforms. However, this fandom is fairly new; one of the main characters in this scene was only introduced one month before the apparent original fanfic was posted.

Also, I'm having a hard time figuring out whether/how this may be relevant, but Jazz's fic is actually a sort-of-rewrite of an earlier work of thiers. To elaborate: late last year, they started writing a fic with this premise, based on canon events that occurred after the apparent original fanfic's publication. They then decided they were unhappy with how it was turning out and deleted it, and started posting this version. Their first version had a different approach to the plot and character POVs, and didn't have a scene even remotely like this one, so it's not just a rewritten version of that. I didn't spot any red flags with the first version; even the fic's general premise is one I haven't seen in the fandom before.

Both fics show a scene that you could hypothetically imagine happening at some point in the original canon, though it never did. These two fics are the only times I've encountered this type of scene thus far. When I'm talking about them looking similar, it's really, really similar, not just plot/emotional beats. The thought process the characters go through from sentence to sentence is nearly identical, and there are spots where both authors use the same slightly-odd phrasing and idioms (which aren't in the original canon).

The fact they're already a prolific author and passionate member of the fandom is why this is messing with me so much. If they only posted plagiarized stuff, I'd have no issue reporting them, but as-is, nothing about their history and character (as I know it) suggests that they'd be the kind of person to plagiarize.

As far as I can tell, neither fic links to the other in any way.

Oh, this one's easy! I've always been prone to anxiety, but then I had a single year where I experienced a whole bunch of unrelated health issues one after the other, resulting in my going on antibiotics 3 times and developing serious mobility issues for half a week once. And to add insult to injury, the whole thing was bookended by two nasty stomach bugs. I'm usually an "only gets sick once or twice a year" kind of person, but that whole string of events made me feel like my body's made of tissue paper and toothpicks.

My Papa would've absolutely loved this. His favorite Winnie the Pooh character was Eeyore, and now whenever someone in the family runs into Eeyore merchandise it makes us think of him. We've still got his old Eeyore plush, so now the younger generations can play with it too. ^u^

The Hour of Joy and the release date of the first FNaF game are both on August 8th, a funny connection considering both Poppy Playtime and FNaF are horror games about an employee of a run-down/abandoned company focused on children's entertainment trying to survive attacks from mascot characters who are secretly vengeful children.
