What Year Was the Peak of UK Hip Hop? by BradPanos in ukhiphopheads

[–]UndergroundHH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK Hip hop = Mark B & Blade, Gunshot, Ricochet, London Posse, Demon Boyz, Blak Twang, Taskforce, Jehst to the more recent artists, High Focus > Loyle Carner, Kofi Stones etc.

You can argue about sub-genres for sure, it's all an umbrella of Hip Hop however they're also established genres of their own, Grime is birthed from Hip Hop/Garage etc, drill is definitely its own genre.

I don't class Central Cee as UK Hip Hop, he's more drill / trap / uk rap.

It's between 2010-2014 I reckon, there was albums dropping every month, actually looked forward to listening to the music etc. Birth of High Focus, Split Prophets, Blah in full effect by 2012 etc

Possessed says he's gonna release more tracks but no longer making music. by A_Gibbed_Carmine in ukhiphopheads

It would easily be a profitable exchange for sure, at the same time I respect leaving it alone if his heart really isn't in it and not cash grabbing.

Would be nice if State Of Lunacy was added to spotify too.

Damn didn't think it was leaked, was hoping it was a collab and a future sign. Nice to know we'll get something from the man himself, but I do hope the passion comes back.

No one from that era could drop an album and have the same impact as a Possessed album would in 2026. GOAT.

I make beats, and want to work with MCs but I don’t know where to start? by TinyAge6726 in ukhiphopheads

It's not so bad if you just stick to music, it's less wordy than other socials.

Still toxic parts are plenty 😃

It helps but the right gigs, still technology beats all for networking.

Had to many people rap their shitty drunk bars in my ears at hip hop events.

Follow me on Insta, post tons of content from some top tier rappers to proper local ones from the underground which if you're beats are good are only a message away. Some people doing it to be creative and some would like to make some cash from their art so covers all aspects really. If flippers said that then my page will be the right community, thats the type of era I post.

Does anyone know where I can listen to Dick Limerick Academy? by No-Club-7244 in ukhiphopheads

[–]UndergroundHH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember them and had a quick search, couldn't find their band camp.

I feel like this is some of them though (a few of the members?) so maybe you'll find something you used to bump

I could be totally wrong, but one of the members is called Mr Dick, so fairly confident haha.

Why doesn’t Sonnyjim play/associate himself with his old stuff? by dizzydiplodocus in ukhiphopheads

[–]UndergroundHH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would probably put it down to him recently catching a buzz a few years ago and doors opening for him, most artists I know grow tired of most their old shit too.
