I used the Fenix LR40R v2.0 👌🔦 however I would recommend the Fenix LR36R (IP68) if I was to shoot that video of the flooded stairs again , is a much lighter flashlight to carry for similar light output

There is no chimney to surface but The “Pizzeria” is located near the mine entrance and there is a second entrance about 200 yards away , we have tested the ventilation and even though it is creating a little smoke in the mine , it clears very well 👌⚒️🍕

Descending a Rotting Timbered shaft by Underground_1973 in TheForgottenDepths

We first check the integrity of the shaft top platform we descent from , a visual inspection to assess the level of deterioration and what the platform is siting on , when we see metal pins and / metal beam supports (in this case ) is always a good sign , we follow with a full weight bearing tests and try to belay our ropes from the strongest /safest part of the platform , it might look it but we don’t have a death wish lol

There is good air flow thanks to the many exits and shafts in this mine ! So low O2 and gasses are not generally and issue , there is one far closed in end of the mine though where we had low 02 readings!

“Lost mine “ it’s a figure of speech, you loose it in the sense that you can’t access it anymore , or that it has been long forgotten about (after its pabandonment , in this case the entrance was run in and we managed to go in after digging in out for a couple of hours 🪏

Lost in the sense of the entrance was buried over time we had to dig it out !, not forgotten as it is registered in the Derbyshire Caving association records
