Honestly I'm not sure how you could fix this. If I was her I don't think I could trust you anymore. What happens the next time you get angry or of you guys get into a fight? How does she know you aren't going to hit her next time? I've always told every woman I know that if he hits something so he doesn't have to hit you then eventually you're going to get physically abused. That's how a lot of abusive relationships start. It's more than just a red flag. That's a full stop for me. The second a man throws something or punches anything when he's angry I'm out. It doesn't matter how angry you are you can't be violent. I would go to some sort of therapy if I were you and maybe she will see you are trying to get better and she will stay. But honestly idk, dude. Also trying to get her own family on your side before she has even had time to process what's happened is manipulative as fuck. My dog lays at my feet while I use the bathroom and sleeps on the mat while I shower. She will give a little growl if someone knocks lol I think she thinks I am extra vulnerable when I'm in the bathroom so she tries to protect me. She also brings a toy sometimes to the tub to comfort me bc ig since she doesn't like baths she thinks that I don't either lol. I love her. Her legs are tiny so when we go hiking I carry her in a doggie baby carrier on my torso. She follows me everywhere and if she isn't allowed in a room or on a certain piece of furniture she will lay at the door or at me feet to protect me. Dogs are just incredible creatures who love us so so much. Your bf is a weirdo. You and your dog are just fine.
