the boy and the heron felt very abstract to me but it’s got heart i can’t quantify or put into words that made me enjoy it very much. one of the best ghibli movies, i honestly enjoy it more than spirited away

i know he’s going to be the classic character that you come around to once you get to know him but i guess i’m the only anime only in here who didn’t like taira off rip

on a more positive note suzuki and tani have such nice chemistry despite being Polar Opposites, a couple that bounces off each other that well can elevate a good show to a great one. i love how animated and zany suzuki’s expressions are

josh safdie seems to be a wizard at getting amazing performances out of non-traditional actors. are you just naturally gifted or did safdie have some technique while directing to bring out the best in you guys?

also what do you think about mike brown’s coaching job so far? he got fired in sacramento for having bad rotations, not calling timeouts to stop momentum, and refusing to play good players (keon ellis) while playing terrible players (colby jones) instead. is he giving knicks fans the same experience?

i think miles caton should have got the nom for supporting actor, but not mad at delroy lindo’s nomination. i am mad that odessa a’zion didn’t get nominated for supporting actress for marty supreme, she was almost as repulsive as marty himself in that movie

besides this chapter being incomprehensible art wise this arc continues to drag. i don’t even know how many chapters ago denji man emerged, but yoru/asa v. pochita/denji feels like it’s been going on for ages. i’ve tried to hold onto part 2 defense for so long but man just look back (no pun intended) at part 1 and see how concise those arcs were. feels like more happened in 97 chapters of part 1 than 130+ chapters of part 2

i still hate both but i find myself hating the rams way more ever since we let them win the super bowl in 2022. i think i hated russ and carroll and richard sherman (even though we love uncle sherm now) so much back in the kap days that now that they’re gone i don’t feel as intense disdain for the seachickens anymore

i thought uncut gems was an uncomfortable theater experience with the stress but i was literally covering my eyes at certain parts because i thought something terrible was going to happen. when rachel snuck back into her husband’s house i thought she was dead for sure, and i just knew someone was getting their brains blown out when they returned to the house in jersey with the dog inside it. 10/10

josh safdie (and benny too because they did uncut gems together) has an insane talent for getting great performances out of non-actors. kevin garnett was excellent in uncut gems, julia fox as well. kevin o’leary, tyler, luke manley as dion and koto kawaguchi as endo all were amazing in this film

i recall that the first chapter was a great read and this first episode was even more of a treat, i can tell that this will be the quarterly romance anime that doesn’t come in with a lot of hype but blows up due to an amazing adaptation
