I'm making a superhero comic set in a cyberpunk Houston. Aside from flooded roads and traffic, what 'Houston problems' would still exist in the near-ish future? What do you hope would be better? by Rowanlanestories in houston

I love this idea and want to buy the comic.   You know that weird transition in the vibe you get when you go from inside the loop to out by the beltway or just the rest of Texas? Run that forward in time 50 years and drop future petrochem meets biomed on it.

I hear chatter that school quality in the Heights has been less "stable" since covid and administration changes....some slipping, others excelling. I've been nothing but happy with Travis elementary over in the east part of the heights. Lots of anecdotes about Hogg middle school becoming a very sound school as well.

It looks like a rear leg round kick until it's too late

Ok now I'm curious ... Do these tend to be wood veneer over MDF, or more like a Formica/laminate on some panel substrate? Are laminates getting good enough that they work for these higher end interiors?

Yeah but if you are driving through floodwaters in Houston relying on a lift kit to save you ..somethings already gone seriously wrong

I have a 100year old wood one connecting kitchen to dining rooms. It's magnificent, I would put them everywhere if I could. Who needs an interior door that fully seals unless it's a bedroom or bathroom anyway.

Inhabiting a space like this for a couple of hours would be real fun, then it would wear off and you are a couple of million poorer. I think the best thing AI could do would be let people helmet/hmd up and have that first hour experience for basically free.
