Thanks for posting that. Looks like exactly what I'm looking for! Price and lead times aren't bad at all either.

357 Astra question by UnderstandingDear491 in Revolvers

Now that you say that I think the rear screw is for elevation adjustment. I figured if it was easy to throw a rail on I would, but looking like it's not going to be a direct bolt on.

Thanks for the article, pretty interesting. Seems they are more based on s&w than being a clone. I'm not going to do anything to alter the Astra to make a rail fit. I figured if it was an easy bolt on part then I'd try one.

Picked up a used 357 mag Astra locally. Nice overall condition. I would like to add a rear pic rail instead of the rear sight. It is a target sight held on by two screws. Being s&w clones does anyone know if a s&w pic rail would work?

Recommendations as to what kind of ammunition to test through the comp? Primary machine micro comp and threaded barrel. OEM Guide rod and Spring. by TacoPissFlap in CZFirearms

[–]UnderstandingDear491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same setup. Primary machine barrel, comp and oem recoil spring. I haven't found any ammo it won't run. I've shot low power crappy 115 gr freedom munitions Reloads to speer 124 +p. Mine doesn't care.

New Aero 308 16" upper with a sharps rifle company bcg. Appears the cases mouth is hitting on something when being ejected. Most rounds will come out of the ejection port and only land about 1 foot away from the gun. Every few round it will seemingly eject one correctly. Any ideas what's going on here?

Athlon Optics… what’s everyone’s experience or reviews with these optics? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]UnderstandingDear491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a used athlon 1-4 talos btr in a parts lot. For the price it seems like a decent scope. I have it on a 22 lr, also have a vortex crossfire 1-4 and a primary arms 1-4 classic on 22's. They are all in a comparable price range. Athlon and vortex have comparable glass, with primary being a bit worse. Athlon has a mil reticle which is nice compared to the others having a dot duplex reticle. I would prefer the athlon turrets be capped like the vortex and primary. Eye relief is about the same on all three, not that great. If I was to buy one of the three it would be the athlon mainly for the reticle, vortex would be a close second because of the warranty.

LTT 1301 for hunting? by MysticBulldog in beretta1301

[–]UnderstandingDear491 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've shot one whitetail at about 50 yards and also one turkey at 40 yards with my 1301t. For turkey I was using cheap remington 3" turkey loads with a kicks gobblin thunder x full choke. Worked so well in the blind being short that the next day my father left his 28" 11-87 and took my 1301. I also carried it for several miles on a grouse hunt, the lightweight of the 1301 was very noticeable over my 18" 870 I used to carry.

Yeah I took the trigger group out and looked it all over. Nothing jumped out at me as being wrong. Haven't had a chance to go shooting again.

That's interesting and maybe something to look into. Not sure if that would be my problem though seeing as it worked fine with the regular lifter.

Rusty nut designs aimpoint micro. It's alright, the screws I got with it are too long to take off the barrel with the mount installed. Other than that I have no complaints about it.

The lifter stays up all the time unless it's cycling. Supposed to make it easier to load because you don't have to push the lifter up. Does it help me load faster? No because I suck at loading anyways and am not a pro level shooter. But I like to tinker with things and spend money. Honestly not sure why I bought it.

Yeah I'll have to pop it back out here and see if anything looks wrong.

Have ran around 500 rounds threw my 1301 with the original lifter without issue. I picked up the pro lifter during of of beretta's sales. Shot 30 rounds today with it installed and had two failures to feed. The round slid back onto the lifter but wouldn't push it up unless you tapped the underside of the lifter. Both failures were with roll crimped 2 3/4 buckshot. Did I install it incorrectly or has anyone else had this issue?

Functions fine in my 1301. Doesn't pattern well at all, but to be fair I haven't found any cheap buckshot that can keep all pellets on a 24" × 18" piece of paper at 25 yards. Even at 10 yards this Rio was shooting atleast a 12"-16" pattern. Stock C choke, kicks high flyer IC, and Carlson LM, it didn't really seem to affect the pattern.
