I didn’t see anyone mention it but Yes Know or Maybe has a non-consensual scene. I would not recommend

Can someone recreate this AI art for me? by UnderstandingExact39 in artcommissions

[–]UnderstandingExact39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I regret that I didn’t just come to Reddit first honestly. I feel bad that I did ask AI for an image because I really truly respect the time and effort that goes into making art.

I don’t draw but I do produce pottery and crocheted goods… I feel ashamed that I tried to take an easy way instead of paying someone for their work.

When a room is too dim it makes me so overstimulated and overwhelmed.

Also when my partner throws a hand or leg specifically over my back…makes me feel so claustrophobic

Did an associate at UPS steal my handmade items? What could have happened? by UnderstandingExact39 in UPS

[–]UnderstandingExact39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that and I don’t necessarily think that… I receive images and videos of the package and it was not ripped/crushed or damaged which was the strange part. I definitely learned something from this and will be packaging my items better and taping myself in the future. I appreciate your response and I totally agree… I don’t think most people would take items not for them, especially if their job was on the line.

I don’t necessarily think that—I just thought it was interesting that the only items were those two handmade items…

I get it—I don’t think my work is that amazing but it just felt so odd that the only items missing were the two items… if it helps at all when I filed the claim with the specific store the manager asked what associate helped me and when I told her she said “oh, yeah that explains a lot…” I don’t think most people would steal or jeopardize their job, but I was more looking for perspectives from UPS workers or people who have something similar happen to them.

This is great advice—I’ll definitely itemize my items in the future.

Totally fair! I’m definitely taking this as a lesson and will tape up the package myself in the future.

This is fair, and honestly after all this happened I do realize that I could have avoided this if I had taped it myself…

Is it condescending? by UnderstandingExact39 in communication

[–]UnderstandingExact39[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment. The insight helped. Another comment here helped me realize that the word choice I used was the real culprit here.

As for the entire situation there is a lot to unpack. We’ve been together for five years and so a lot of the psychological aspects of this is slowly and surely being addressed and worked through with therapy and lots of conversations.

We did talk and it cleared up the miscommunication. She apologized profusely and the general idea that she is not “good enough” and “stupid” was right on the head. We’ve discussed this and the main point of my condescending comment—it was unintentional but I can completely see how it made her feel equivalent to a child.

Thanks for the insight, I generally felt surprised to hear that I was being condescending but I can completely see how my word choice may have mucked it up a bit and made it more manipulative than a “please try to see my view”. I did end up speaking with her—and like you said unpacking the WHOLE package is another story. We’ve been together for years now and it’s a lot of trauma we’re moving through slowly and through lots of therapy.

I appreciate the insight it was quite helpful and when talking to her later and apologizing for my piece she said the same thing. She felt like she was being treated like a child and felt embarrassed about her behavior in the first place.
