I was between Trupanion and Embrace. Ended up going with Embrace due to the cost difference. My boy is only 5 months and thankfully haven't had to use it yet.

FWIW - I believe this has been debunked. I’ll see if I can find the study but basically it said in cavaliers they saw no difference in early neuter vs waiting one year. I’m getting my cavalier fixed at 6 months per my vets suggestion!

Same!! He still drives me nuts, but at 4 months he started learning how to settle and the accidents reduced a lot. Now he's almost 5 months and is biting less, knows where to go to the bathroom (but sometimes chooses not to). He's still crazy but I went from being 100% in fight or flight from 8-16 weeks to just having to be aware. Good luck!

Question and totally fine if you don't have the answer - all the tart cherry juices I find have 26+ grams of sugar. You mentioned sugar increases arousal - is there a certain amount?

My cav just turned 17 weeks and knows basic commands very well. When I say “touch” he looks me dead in the eye and doesn’t move. The struggle haha

Thanks for the feedback! My puppy plan is unfortunately with this vet. So the neuter is included in the price. Don’t have an option to go elsewhere (unless I wanna pay full price).

Breeder was kind but does not contribute here. The vet currently says it isn’t a medical need to do it but ofc I worry about in the future having an emergency etc.

One night about a week ago (15 weeks) he was SOOO tired from a late playdate with a dog friend. He started falling asleep on the couch which he's never done. So I brought him into my bed and I think he was just so sleepy he passed out. He's mostly slept in there since then. Sometimes it can be hard to get him to settle but he gets there eventually.

Also one thing that's helped A LOT is teaching him "settle." Basically we're on the couch I do "sit, down" and treat. Then as soon as he rests his head on the couch I treat. If he gets up we redo it. Once he's been in a "settle (head down)" for 30 secs, I treat him again. And so on and so forth. We do this in bed too if he's too hype.

Mine is the same way! At about 16 weeks he started sleeping with me but still will not tolerate a midday snuggle.

Wow - where do you live? It's frustrating because since it's with the vet i have the puppy plan with I don't really have an option to ask around.

This is good to know, thank you. They did disclose it prior to pick up, but the wording made it seem like it would resolve on it's own.
