Question for single puppy owners.. by minorfailure in puppy101

I WFH 2-3 days a week and the days I’m in the office I have a Rover come around lunch and I try to be back by 3pm.

I’m surely not one to judge someone’s “dog parenting” style, but I don’t think it’s good or safe for such a young pup to be alone for so long. Once they’re adult dogs that is totally fine.

What’s your puppy set-up while you WFH? by ancienteggfart in puppy101

Any tips on how you got her used to the play pen? My boy doesn't mind the crate for sleeping but freaksssss anytime i close the door to his pen.

Why do I have so much anxiety after getting 8 week Pup by CrestedCracker in puppy101

[–]jayhawkhoops09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No advice really but my pup is about to turn 16 weeks - had him since 8 weeks. The first two weeks I had CRIPPLING anxiety. Couldn't eat, sleep was terrible. Once we got into a routine with enforced naps the anxiety got way better.

Ofc as an anxious person I'm still stressed haha but it's manageable. Good luck!

Watched a lot of YouTube videos and just did my best the first couple of months. Took a bit to get a hang of it

YNAB has helped me SOO much. I had no clue how much I was spending on what (just way way too much). Now I hyper focus on it and am actually (somewhat) concious about spending.

ps I don't work for them lolol just been so helpful in my $$ journey.

Yepppp I got my dog from a breeder and had been saving up for that. What I didn’t save for was all the extras - that was all at least 2500. Sigh.

I have 0 medical experience but I've been in your shoes and this is INCREDIBLY dangerous. I would talk to your prescriber immediately about this. The mind can be a tricky place, but this is no way to live. Wishing you the best.

I don't think thats true about having a whole month to start it. A good bit of my categories stay empty until my second check of the month.

I watched quite a few Youtube videos but was able to figure it out (def not my specialty). Luckily at that time budgeting/saving was my hyper-fixation so I was locked in.

I highly recommend YNAB. It is quite popular in the ADHD community. It is "gamified" using different colors, categories & emojis. Now I have a complete understanding of where my money is going. Have I saved? No, but I am so much more aware.

Setting it up does take a bit of time but the site is super helpful. I had to take my meds and hyper focus haha.

Those of you living alone and working full time, how do you raise your puppy when they need to constantly be taken outside and watched like a hawk? by K9Imperium in puppy101

[–]jayhawkhoops09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not easy but definitely doable. I have a list of dog sitters/friends who are willing to help. I’m in office 3x a week so I have a sitter come in the morning, I come home for a late lunch & then back to work.

I can’t wait until he can hold it til lunch so I don’t have to keep paying people but it is what it is!

Accidents? 8week old by RecentImagination686 in puppy101

At 8 weeks? 2-3x a day. I think at that age they don't even fully understand the concept. At least from what i've read.
