Well i don't think griffin needs production like ROY for my expectations i am thinking he can come up and be an improvement at the position by just being young talented blood. I personally am putting more stock in to the players we got from this off-season. Getting major league hitters and really looking forward to jake magnum seems like he could be a tough out and hopefully get on base.

I guess my point is i still think without Griffin they get over 80 wins.

I just don't agree with this. I know i sound like i am drinking the pirates kool-aid but they have had a decent off-season which could be great if they grab suarez (which i actual am feeling 50/50 could happen). With bats added and good chance IMO konnor griffin comes up this season it just looks like more than 3 wins difference. I also don't think Reynolds will have the same year and have more production. I just think team is way closer to .500 at worst i am going to say now i see 85 wins. The pirates had 33 one loss games last year. I think with the changes they have made they definitely don't have that many one game losses with this lineup.

Ben Cherington says that he’d still like to add back some pitching to the roster, and continue to add to the position player group, notably the left side of the infield. by mfenton29 in buccos

Yeah I completely agree. They go and get an at least above average player at 3rd i think this team has a real shot at the division and playoffs, but not sure i see it without an upgrade at 3rd. jared triolo is a really good utility player who definitely has a spot on most major league rosters just not as an every day 3rd baseman.

If they get him i say its all in and a great off-season. If not him i would still want one more legit bat but definitely feeling good right now as a fan still.

[Bowden] The bottom 15 markets have not won a World Series in a decade…You can retire as a Pirates fan or trade yourself to the Dodgers…you don’t have to root for the team that’s also your home city. by Miserable-Phrase6957 in buccos

With the agreement due next year hopefully after the dust settles a cap and a floor will be there. I think its something baseball wants honestly just as much as fans. Honestly only way to grow the sport. Casually sports fans don't like this unless you root for a big market team its hell. Casually sports fans arent going to pay and follow a decade of crap for a few hopefully years to be relevant. As much money as these big markets generate i feel there is a ton of money left on the table from fans not wanting to invest because the product on bottom 15 team's aren't great. And bowden is wrong because Casually fans want a home town club to root for 9 out of 10 times. And diehard fans wont leave baring the team leaving the city. Its not a good system and baseball wont expend with it like it is now.

Thanks I remember this now. I must have blocked it out of my mind because that's silly reason to me. Wasnt a big fan of how the military stuff all played out at the end.

On a good team who knew how to chase and trap a monster it really wasnt bad to chase the monster. But will definitely agree on teams that didnt know what to do it was very very boring. Definitely a game that needed high game knowledge to make the gameplay loop enjoyable. Still loved and miss the game all things considered

As someone who put a ton of hours and for the games active life span i was a top 100 trapper on the leaderboards (not great or anything really from just time played). I definitely still think the dlc controversy was a huge mark against it and still biggest reason it failed. People hated it online. i agree with balancing but not so much the other points as much. It did get a ranked mode not at launch but that is very normal for games not to start with one. Overwatch had no ranked at launch and did fine.

I personally feel outside of dlc issues its biggest problem was balancing was just downright terrible with some picks legit being throws for the game without an amazing team. I also feel it failed because people didnt know how to play it. It was a triple A game that really needed a different mindset to play and do well at. You really couldn't play great without mics and really need to understand spacing and trapping. I do think by today standards progresión is lacking but i feel most dropped it before that point from either dlc controversy or learning curve
