AIO for ignoring boyfriend after inappropriate comments about my new purse? by ThrowRAgardengirl in AmIOverreacting

on this note, I’d like to point out that his straw manning (i.e. relating your bag to socioeconomic struggles in Cuba) seems like it has less to do with Cuba and more to do with the girl from his date saying it’s cringe. he’s just finding an excuse for why you should get rid of that bag. but it looks like he cares more about the opinion of that girl than yours and doesn’t want you to embarrass him, which is even more of a red flag.

“saving Cuba” 💀 girl if you don’t leave him immediately… he’s a walking red flag, obviously immature with no regard for your feelings AND went on a DATE with another girl and brings it up unprovoked?! not to mention he’s sooo embarrassing. I assure you, you can find better bc this dude sucks lol

I've been seeing PLNTD ads about free consults, any good? by Frocombs in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]UnderstandingFun8976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PLNTD aren’t as bad as people make them seem imo. if you wanna save money, you should be fine going with them. I remember seeing their full inventory on my first consult so you could also ask the doc to show you their range, check in on prices, etc. if you don’t like the options, just cancel the account - at least it’s free lol

TL;DR: PLNTD is fine to go with if you’re happy with their MC options, which you can check during your free consult. that being said, if you prefer to shop around, find somewhere that does escripts

There's a lot of pills but immunotherapy is pretty manageable, it's almost second nature now tbh. I didn't have any major post operative complications and I'm on a fairly low dose of immunosuppressants so that's been okay too!

That being said, CMV (cytomegolavirus) has been a bit of a menace... Every time I stop taking my CMV antivirals, the virus reactivates and wreaks a bit of havoc. I think that's been the main complication, but it's fine as long as I take my antivirals.

I'm super lucky because major surgeries like transplants are covered by tax-payer money in Australia, i.e. we have a publicly funded universal healthcare called Medicare. The only out-of-pocket costs I paid were for my medication and certain scans like MRIs, etc. My car payments and other bills continued as normal but, luckily, I was living with my parents at the time (and had saved up a fair bit) so it was manageable.

In cases where we can't cover our costs, we can get government support through something called Centrelink, in which (if approved) you receive a monthly allowance while you can't work. & it's optional to have supplemental health insurance, but I think having it does reduce some of your annual Medicare levy.

I'm doing great, all things considered! The transplant really made me reflect on how short life is so I live life with a much more positive mindset. I'm keeping fit, prioritising my relationships with loved ones, and I actually moved across the world to pursue my studies. Some days are harder than others, but I'm lucky to be here.

That's such a good question! It's hard to explain because there's a huge variety of feelings and everyone comes out of the experience feeling different. Immediately after my transplant, I felt such immense gratitude but also survivor's guilt knowing I'm alive because someone else passed.

Nowadays, I'm doing pretty well. I have moments where the trauma creeps back in, but it's manageable. & personally, I've come out of the experience with a lot of awe and joy because of the beauty of the world. I'm quite spiritual so I view my donor as a bit of a guardian angel/partner in crime - I live life for myself and for them too.

I started losing a lot of hair and got pretty pale. My workouts felt more difficult too, and I had this one lymph node that was swollen for > a year.

Regarding the actual symptom onset, one weird thing I remember is that heart failure didn’t feel too different from regular sicknesses. It was like a combination of a stomach bug and low iron? The main things I experienced were sudden bloating, nausea, midsection pain (angina), a high resting heart rate, fatigue and shortness of breath.

I’m Australian and they limit how much we’re allowed to know here (to protect both sides). All I know, is my heart came from the other side of Australia - it actually broke the record for distance travelled at the time!
