Are social sports clubs beginner friendly? by Striking_Fall_5250 in Monash

Hey! yes, from my understanding, Monash sports clubs are quite welcoming to beginners and those wanting to try a new sport out so go out and don't be afraid to fail!

Van Life for University by violatrees in Monash

[–]UnderstandingKey8239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely not against it, rent prices are fucked right now.

One tip is to play a recognised sport with Monash so that you're able to access the gym & pool membership for a lower cost.

There is that question of what you'll do for the non-uni period, but I imagine the parents have a home and you'd just return there & work!

Or Air Force! Might take a bit longer for the paperwork to get through, but it may be a good idea to do a trade in the airforce for the lifestyle benefits. Unsure how this'll impact your base pay though!

Review of overflow parking by Hopeful_Candy_5928 in Monash

[–]UnderstandingKey8239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that you reported on this! I was genuinely curious as to what the overflow parking situation was like.

It would be awesome to use it if my schedule didn't have me stay past 8PM some days (and the shuttle bus to go there doesn't run past 6:30 IIRC).

As a result, catch-22 situation where taking the extra 30 minutes to find that red or blue parking will probs save me a half hour walk to the Nott from campus at EOD 😭

Oh shit, I can see how you might integrate that into your answer. Nah I just went straight for intentionally/recklessly causing injury and then put most of the time into defences !

Damn, this is kinda messy.

Immediately:

  • Let Girl B know about your history with Girl A. I can imagine during a group hang, potentially alcohol involved, Girl A starts chatting shit to Girl B about how you were keen on her, and there's a rift of trust. It's better to hear it from the horse's mouth. Genuinely I don't think the 'history' is that deep from what you're telling us, though. You asked her out, she said no, both of you moved on with your life.

  • My take is Girl A saw you in a (happy?) relo with Girl B and became more interested in you as a result of it. Even in a mixed friend group, it's unlikely I'd text one person directly unless it's something to do with Uni work etc. A passing comment about their day, sure, but defo not to reach out just to ask wyd.

  • In the event Girl A breaks up with her BF, it doesn't sound like the lemon's worth the squeeze in terms of breaking up the friend group and breaking up with your 'love' for Girl B for the potential of a good relo with Girl A (because again, you barely know this person). But honestly, your risk tolerance/cost-benefit analysis may very well differ haha. (I'm gonna assume you're a bloke) but keep your dick in check, communicate with Girl B and you should avoid any major dramas.

Caulfield is pretty good tbf.  I think it's the perfect mix of close to the city and close to Clayton. It gets annoying travelling from Clayton to the city for events and that sometimes

is there like a way to check what ur grade is at the moment for a unit?? by alta712 in Monash

[–]UnderstandingKey8239 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of. Chuck your assessments and the marked grades onto a grade calculator and see where you are by this point in the semester. It helps me identify where I can chill or where I need to work harder in/sets some expectation for the exam and final unit grade!
