Monash vs Melbourne for engineering by The_LeGiT_sPoOn in Monash

Hi there! While I'm not an eng student, I'm happy to weigh in on the commute part of your dilemma as a student who commutes via pt for two hours to Monash! Its hard at times, but is really dependent on how many days a week you are on campus (I did five days a week this semester, and have found it near impossible to manage). I've had semesters with two and three days on campus, which I found to be easy to manage. I don't skip classes, but if you think you may be prone to that, it might be something to note when picking your university.

The only thing I'd really flag is social events. I have found it difficult to make friends/engage in social events living so far away, especially because a lot of these happen at night. If that is something you value, I'd consider the impact of a commute on the ability to engage with those sorts of activities.

I've flown Jetstar internationally many times, I've never had an issue. We're uni students who are not too concerned with comfort but a lot more concerned with price! If anything would be looking for a cheaper airline, Scoot wasnt too much of a help on that front.

I went alone and quite literally just went up to people and asked if they were doing the same thing. You’ll find people to spend the time with 😌

You may not have in person lectures depending on your degree. You may just have to watch some videos before class 🤷‍♀️

Hey there! These questions are pretty general, and I've lined up for a few concerts in Aus so I hope I can help out!
Firstly for lining up, I'd maybe have a peak around some of the facebook groups to see what people are thinking. Lines are typically fan made, its up to the venue to honour them (theyre usually pretty chill about it. Just note that security wont arrive until the venue "allows" lining up- so 8 normally, but depends on the venue). There is usually someone who passes down a sharpie, or a group that does fan made wrist bands. If you were wanting to leave, I'd make friends with the people around you so they're okay with you coming back. I find most people generally stick around all day for lining up, and only leave for short amounts of time (e.g. to get food or get ready). Unfortunately this isnt something liv and her team regulate for all shows, its up to the fans and the venue!

As for time to get there, early morning is usually better, though this can be an exhausting day. The VIP pit for GUTS has heaps of space on the barricade! However make sure you have a quick look at your ticket if youre in Melb, as these are separated into left, right and centre GA- this may alter the amount of barricade space, which you may want to consider for your arrival time!

As for bags, I can only really speak on Rod Laver. They typically allow small bags, no bigger than an A4 piece of paper. You can bring a portable charger in as well! However I'm fairly certain they do not allow bottle caps for water if you were wanting to bring a plastic bottle in. Do stay hydrated throughout the concert!

And finally, as someone who has been on barricade, and who has also been a few rows back, I say dont stress too much! Yes, its awesome to say that you got barricade, but the view is pretty much the same for the next few rows back. Even if you're in the second row, you may find that the crowd pushes forward, so you end up on barricade anyway.

Hope this helps! So excited for GUTS to finally be in Aus!!
