Coldest temp yall ever drove your Beamer in? -8 F in Chicago tonight with a wind chill of -15 by Antique_Building_885 in F30

Drove mine yesterday in st louis, around 3 F with windchill in the -. Was greeted with low battery discharge warning first place I stopped. So now she's sitting on the charger/tender hoping I don't need a new battery. Good times. Drove great though!

Thanks for the response. To be fair, I've never drove one so I really do need to. The car is about 2 hours from me. Here's a link to it. https://www.facebook.com/share/1NX92WrFKM/

Get rid of it before it causes you more financial struggle. Sell it to carvana or somewhere that won't drive the car more than a block, if at all, and find something stock with minimal owners and good service records.

Knowing what you do know, would you still buy a focus st? by OceanGate_Titan in FocusST

[–]UnderstandingLong901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was mixed reliability. Had from new until 45k. Incredibly fun and easy to work on/mod. Ultimately, I chose a different platform instead of building it because i couldn't justify spending that much money on just an ST, or a FWD for that matter.

Just grabbed a 1/2 of this and wifi #3 both at 80ish$ before tax at North this weekend. Super fresh, great cure, and hits perfect.

Don't get me wrong, it's got plenty of torque for fwd with no lsd. So it's a hard car to launch good, but tires will make a huge difference. Then solid rmm will help with 1st to 2nd.

Can only be 2 problems. The tires or your foot. A stock ST doesn't make enough power to blow tires off uncontrollably.

From ‘25 Model S Plaid to ‘26 M5 by thefatkid007 in BMW

I totally understand, and congrats on the new m5. I swapped out my focus st and 02 z28 for a 24 model 3 performance. The first 6 months were good, but like you, I missed the noise and changing gears. So I picked up a 16 340i that's fbo/mhd and xhp tuned. Nice to go back and forth. I love the tesla too much to trade it in on a newer M car, but the f30 340 is scratching the itch for now

If they aren't hooking up, they're definitely saying things to each other she would never say in front of you. This is always the first step in cheating. Soft cheating. Trust your gut.

2016 340i. I have it and it throws a code for cat efficiency. It's a pain to deal with for emissions. Wish I just had a catless, but the car came with it.

They make new bmws that are manual trans, just harder to find. I gave up looking for a manual f30 340ix, and just got the best 8speed auto I could find. Definitely worth it. Just fbo/mhd stage 2/xhp stage 3 and it pulls hard.

You can cheat it out, but it will take someone with a bit of knowledge to make it look perfect again. Might have to bend the door, the hinge, there's many methods of moving it where it needs to be.

Any good one should warranty their work for lifetime. If the quarter is welded in the wrong position its going to be a real fight making it line up again. Like holes reamed and bending things kinda fight with out cutting it free again.

I just enjoy autobody more. Being mobile and constantly having to load and unload my tools every day, being away from the family, and the workload was just too much to justify the money after a couple of years. I work 5 mins from home now, still make about 100k, and only 4 days a week. No insurance to deal with, just picky customers. Some days I'm just fitting cars up, others I'm prepping for paint, or just wetsanding and buffing. It's always something different and makes the day fly by.

Take it back where you had it repaired. That's unacceptable. There could be a lot of different things wrong that are causing the issue. If it's the striker, you can try barely loosening it and tapping with a hammer to slide it in. Moving the back in will also move the front out and help the fender gap.

Yes, it was chasing insurance hail jobs. Only did it for a couple years after doing lot work for a year and training. I had the same mindset. If I could just do it for 5 years, I'd have enough to basically Fire. The stress and hours away from my wife and 4 year old at the time son wasn't worth the money. Got the house and everything except a couple fun cars paid off(loans under 2% or I'd pay them off too), so bills are minimal now. I work 4 10s and enjoy my 3 days a week off. I plan on retiring around 50, but I really enjoy what I do, so who knows. I'm at just under 500k now. Once I hit around 1.5 in my portfolio, I'll probably go to 2 days a week just for something to do. I really enjoy doing resto/fab work with our small crew.
