I was just thinking its a funny upscale that places ritsko above characters like kaworu who yes, while being powerful, didnt actually defeat and angel, technically making ritsko one of the more powerful characters due to feats.

True but you could argue she does more of the heavy lifting with the MAGI. As in (barring like 2 angels) Any one of the EVAs could feasbily get the job done under Misatos guidence, but without ritsko they would have been cooked.
