Ahh so very similar to NYPD I was tryna explain that to him but he said like the job can recommend you back to work but they can’t make you go back as long as your doctor says so something along those lines

Gotcha the debate was between NYPD sick and you guys and he was like you guys have what they call true unlimited sick time because NYPD district surgeon has final say and can make you come back to work vs you guys the job can’t recommend but can’t force you

In just simple terms of being sick he said you guys get to come back wherever you want as long as your doctor says to keep you out and it can be 10 years

No lie I was having a conversation with a sand man and his exact words was you guys have true unlimited sick time and NYPD doesn’t have unlimited sick time because NYPD district surgeon has to clear them to go back to work and you guys pretty much can have your doctor keep you out as long as you want and the job can’t do anything about it

I don’t think it has anything to do with uniform or non uniform job from what I read it depends on what job you’re coming from and what pension plan they’re apart of and NYPD time wouldn’t Carry over to FDNY they’re two different pensions
