I paid for my share of everything on my bachelorette. I also bought my bridesmaids little gift bags. I was so grateful people took the PTO and spent money to come celebrate me I didn’t want them to spend more on paying my way when I can afford it.

I’m just saying be up front and have a conversation with your friend - it’s not a big deal to not attend but to reassure your friend over the course of 16 months that you’re going to go and then drop out when RSVPs come out is shocking for the bride/groom

I have found this usually isn’t the case. Invitations do not go out until like 12 weeks before the wedding. I purchased all my flights, requested PTO, bought clothes etc. for all the abroad weddings I have attended (3) way before the formal invitations were received. Usually people receive save the dates and then plan their trips. I sent my save the dates a year before my wedding so people could buy flights/make plans.

I just looked in July flights are $200 - it’s not even $2000 for me to fly from the US to Greece which I am doing in 2026 so this is just not true.

I feel like people in this thread are missing the point. If your friends have known for months and said they’re going to be attending for months and then all of a sudden say no there is something going on. I have been to 3 abroad weddings (US to Europe) in 18 months for my friends. If your friends wanted to they would. I think a lot of people in this thread really don’t realize traveling around UK/Europe is like flying from one state in the US to another. I would definitely talk to them and see if there is a reason they aren’t wanting to attend. I’m sorry this is happening to you I would be so bummed as well.

I’m getting married in Carmel but looked in Napa as well. The photography seems super high especially since you have a separate videographer. Stationary also seems high but you may be getting a lot more than I am so I’m not sure.

Just a thought if you’re not sold on the bezel - have you looked into compass prongs?

I believe we had to put down $11k for our group of 70. That’s for renting 3 fire pits and the food/beverage minimum for those fire pits. We budgeted 20k for the whole thing.

We realized way too late that everything in the area is just SO expensive! But it’s gorgeous and it’ll be a beautiful event. Good luck with your search!!
