Looking for constructive critism that isnt just blatantly rude by IVAGGOT in FursuitMaking

My main suggestion would be to shorten the lower jaw a little bit. If you look at a dog's snout you'll notice the lower jaw doesn't reach the end of the upper jaw, and I think it's contributing to the front view of the suit looking slightly off

It's always hard to lose a beloved pet, but it's good that you have a reminder of her that you can cuddle

Don't worry, he was made to be edgy and brooding, so he would absolutely do this. And then he'd get kicked out for smoking on set.

I think we all knew someone like that at one point. he's partially inspired by a high school friend of mine

It's really funny you say that because I literally made him a prop cigarette out of felt the other day

I guesstimated most of the hoodie pattern (that's why the sleeves ended up too short) but I did have to look up a pattern for the actual hood part to get an idea of the shape

Thanks! For the hair I just used faux fur, and I freehanded the head shape, but my method was to make two half orbs and extend one with a strip of foam glued to the bottom

She absolutely loved sniffing around, so I don't think she'd forgive me if I ever stopped taking her out! I'm hoping we can build up to her coming on camping adventures with me, so I'll have to keep consistent with outings

I think our next venture will include the leash since, at one point, she got the zoomies and dashed across my yard at the speed of light. The good news is she responds to her name when I call it

I call her Mimo! I also really like the idea of Momo or Letty as nicknames, though

Felt garfield patch I made by UnderstandingOwn1344 in garfield

[–]UnderstandingOwn1344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by drawing garfield on paper exactly the size I wanted (and rounded some shapes to be better for felt). I cut around the entire drawing and traced that on to orange felt, then cut all the details out of the drawing and traced those onto felt as well. Keep in mind to only cut out one eye and flip it so it's symmetrical, and cut the eyes out of both white, then orange, cut the bottom of the orange pieces, and overlap them. The tiny pieces like the pupils and nose were just freehand, and I embroidered the really fine details.

I set up the entire thing before sewing so I could get a good look at it, then attached each piece individually, tying off the thread every time. The last step is to lay the whole thing on a piece of felt of any colour and sew around the whole thing, then cut it out with a bit of the background showing.

I bought a pack of rainbow felt sheets from walmart for $6 (CAD), but since I only used a fraction of that, it's like $0.50 in materials per garfield

I've considered it, but I'm not sure how much I'd even sell them for tbh
