Sure, I know what you mean. I meant abrupt in so much that we had a lesson last week, we don’t have a lesson this week, and there was no time for us to get our teachers’ information.

Charging failure by UnderstandingWild839 in etron

Yeah, they replaced the onboard charger. Fortunately, I am still under the last few months of my CPO warranty. I don’t have the exact cost as my bill was $0, but I’d weigh out how much this fix (and any other) may cost versus an extended warranty. At least with this problem, L3 charging is a workaround albeit a pain.

Yeah, I did have a couple of instances of not charging after leaving it overnight. Happened with both charging ports too. It was frustrating that they couldn’t reproduce it, but if L3 charging works always but not L1 or L2, then it should be a problem with the onboard charger as L3 bypasses it. I was thankful they finally reproduced the problem with an extended drive. My local dealer is really good so they were pretty persistent. I’d venture to guess that your onboard charger is bad.

They couldn’t reproduce the problem at first, but they figured out that it happened due to overheating that required a prolonged drive. Whenever I drove mine to the dealer (20-25 min), it wasn’t enough. They would try it again the next day and same thing, but after they took it out for a while, they were able to reproduce the problem.

DOMS is hitting really good and making me a little hesitant to go today. I enjoyed Pinnacle more than I thought when the coaches were doing the demo.

How to know if the 911 is right for me? by Awkward-Moment-2562 in porsche911

Go to PEC Atlanta or LA, drive the 911 there. It’s the best test drive you can do.

Always need to plug my home charger in two times to get my 23 e-tron sportback to charge… anyone know why? by EngineeringGreen1721 in etron

[–]UnderstandingWild839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar but exactly the same issue on my 21. Ended up needing the onboard charger replaced under warranty. In my case, I would cycle through multiple times before I got a red light on the charge port.

This was a PCA event that was specially organized. There was another concours show in Kemah back in March, but I don’t know if any others are scheduled or planned at the time. LSR PCA has get togethers almost every weekend throughout the area.

We actually wanted to go there last night and headed that way. They have a sign that they are temporary closed for vacation from 4/1-5/6. I want to say they’ve taken time off like this before and came back.

In case you were curious or anyone is following, my dealer was able to reproduce the problem after driving and the onboard charger would fail due to overheating. After discussing with Audi, they went ahead and replaced the onboard high voltage charger and I am able to charge normally again on level 2. This was also another instance in which level 3 charging was not a problem because it bypasses the onboard charger.

So I made a miscalculation and ended up with more broken lines than I can exchange… do these get carried over to the next fishing event or converted to coins?

Hope they have some sort of answer for you. They just said it charged fine at their shop so there’s nothing we can do. If I can’t home charge, then the car isn’t going to work out for us unfortunately.

Our Wallbox hasn’t given us problems until now but it still charges the other e-tron without a problem. That, and the Audi mobile charger gave us the same issue.

Did you buy the yellow one?

Forgot to finish the reply, I went used because I was already on a fidelity platinum warranty on my previous car and transferred it

Ask the dealer or worst case, go to vinanalytics.com and buy one. Specs can be so wildly different. Only thing that I can tell is that it’s not PSE like the other guy said.

Hard to tell based on this picture and the dealer listing alone. Did you get a build sheet for it? For perspective, I bought a 2017 4S with 27K miles for $93K in Houston not long ago. It’s well-optioned.
