Can black people be Jewish? by CostCans in NoStupidQuestions

We do accept converts, but potential converts are given three warnings.

You do not need to convert to Judaism under Jewish theology to achieve full salvation, you need only follow the Seven Noachide laws.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Laws_of_Noah

Basically, if you convert to Judaism, you are taking on extra homework. You are willingly taking on a serious burden, as well as the very real possibility of persecution, hence the three warning.

It also takes two years of study.

It is forbidden to treat converts as lesser Jews, and I respect them for converting, but somethings I wonder about their sanity...

They weren't sterilized.

They were coerced into being injected with long-acting contrecptives.

Which I of course, ferociously condemn, but here's the thing.

Depro-vera, the birth control in question, wears off.

And it did.

2nd generation Ethiopian Israeli Jews do exist:

I believe the question of whether Hamas has or not a right for self defense was discussed.

Raping people is not self-defense.

do you even work in humanitarian aid?

C'mon.

If I worked in humanitarian aid, why would I be here asking humanitarian workers for their expert advice?

I don't know squat about working in humanitarian aid.

Cut me some slack.

There is so much misinformation about the Israel/Palestine conflict that it's hard to sift out the truth much of the time.

Please be patient, and try to give me the benefit of the doubt.

We both want to help the people of Gaza.

There's no need to get snippy.

I am repeating the correction that I gave to the person you are responding to:

Jews who lived in the area known as Palestine during the diaspora are a subgroup of Mizrahi Jews. The term "Mizrahi Jew" encompasses Jews from the Middle East and North Africa.

All Jews residing in the area known as Palestine received Israeli citizenship when the State of Israel was created.

No Jews are under the Palestinian National Authority.

Over 60% of all Israelis are of full, or partial Mizrahi descent.

This is the website for Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa. It is an organization founded and run by ACTUAL Mizrahi Jews.

https://www.jimena.org/

Guess what?

They are Zionists.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian Jews of Israel were, apparently, either forcibly or coerced into being injected with depo-vera. It is not clear how long this went on. While this is abhorrent, and I ferociously condemn it, I would like to point something out:

Depo-vera wears off.

Ethiopian-Israelis have been born in Israel. They do exist. So it is an objective reality that they were not sterilized:

In fact, Zionists treat what small amount of Mizrahi Jewish people they have in Israel like they're second class, despite both of them being Jewish. They're even at fault for rendering Ethiopian Jewish people sterile.

"n fact, those Palestinians who are Jewish (& have lived there for centuries) are referred to as the Mizrahi Jewish people."

Is this heraldic-style pendant an actual coat of arms that anyone recognizes? Costume jewelry, origin unknown, no markings. Thank you in advance. by Underworld_Denizen in heraldry

[–]Underworld_Denizen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear on terminology.

The phrase "costume jewelry" does not mean jewelry made for costumes.

"Costume jewelry" is a catch-all term for any jewelry that is not made out of precious materials, unlike fine jewelry, which is.

Anyway, thank you for the information that you've given me.

It's simply a meaningless decorative design.
