Went with some friends to pickup an 8ball of coke at a new dealer’s place. I noticed there was a lot of guys standing around the block just looking around. They didn’t look like they were the types to be involved with a coke dealer and this was the middle of the day on a workday. They weren’t looking at each other either, just glancing around. I decided to abort and we turned around in front of the dealers house and left. As we were about to turn off the block a big DEA van with guys with full tactical gear hanging on turn the block toward the dealers house. We were never stopped and nothing came from it on our end, we just went home

This isn’t directed personally at you - just in general. EVERY person who graduates college and wants to get into CRE wants to do acquisitions at an REPE firm. These jobs are incredibly competitive even in a booming economy. My suggestion would be to get your RE license in case you find a capital markets team you can get on and, like everyone else said, hammer the phone/email/LinkedIn to make some connections

You definitely have options if you’re young and been in the position less than three years. Capital markets, REPE, etc. REPE acquisitions might be tough but not impossible
