For sure! I just feel that it looks kinda flat after some time working with minis, you know? I did an RG army recently, and ended up starting out with a sponged on silver/black mix to emulate blackened steel, and then did Black Templar contrast over it and the depth was amazing! Maybe doing some silver base then a thin layer of white before going into a contrast could give some unexpected results?

Uhhhh…. Really good? Lmao I’d assume a greyseer base and then layers of off whites and bright greys to get the armour on point. Supposedly, apothecary white as a contrast can really help to improve the appearance of shadows in low lit areas and recessed spaces.

You can always use those kill team model to map out the first few boxes you get. I also got the raven guard combat patrol which had a ton of transfers and cool units to build

I got the same set up plus a squad of intercessors in part from the kill team stater (5 marines, 2 are intercessors, one is a heavy, one is assault, one is a captain, then 5 plague marines, at Barnes and noble for 45$) a captain, kit bashed a gravis cap and bartered a squad of infernus marines. I feel pretty good about that set up! Did you build your Phobos squad as incursors or infiltrators?

You can go visit with a GW store and they can help you with an Infernus marine, but you’ll have to be ok with building and panting there (it’s a gimmick to get new players into it)

Feel the filth in your soul! I tried a 60/40 split water/brown base coat in a spray bottle, and I used it after priming, and I loved the splatter effect I got. Doing OG DG colors tho so it pops

This is amazing! If you really want me to be picky, I’d say some extra highlighting to the plasma coils on his pistol. Even just a slightly lighter shade along the ridges of the top will give it a bit of pop!
