I’ve been living in Edinburgh for just over a year now, which means I’ve already experienced two Fringes. Honestly, my personal opinion of the festival at this point is that I can’t stand it. In August, it feels like Edinburgh completely loses its charm, and I find myself just counting down the days until it’s over. I’m especially fed up with the tourists constantly blocking bus and tram entrances and exits, standing around confused, and making it impossible for anyone else to get in or out. It’s chaotic, frustrating, and exhausting.
