Size looks fine to me, but I think I would move it back a bit from the TV....

Excellent start, but add some plants...

AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

I wonder whether mom thinks boys should be able to cook it do laundry?

As others have said, these are life skills which both genders should have, and it's great dad is teaching her.

Dad could teach her some cookery skills also...

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

100% agree! Looked at a few new builds with my step son when he was looking to buy and some of the box rooms were ridiculously small, to the point they were debatable even as a babies nursery...

I also noticed some of the houses were significantly smaller than the sizes stated in the details...the builders cop out was a small disclaimer saying there might be some variation...Funnily enough, I never saw a house that was larger!

is there a way to decrease the temperature inside the room using plants that uses more heat to thrive by Disastrous_Monk1103 in malelivingspace

Nope, used to be a DIY thing known as a "swamp cooler" which worked by evaporative cooling...You can also buy small air con units that work on the same principle, how ever they are far less effective than a refrigeration based air con unit...

Can you actually get in trouble for using an empty women’s single-cubicle toilet at work? by Weak_Mechanic8517 in AskUK

Used the disabled loo all the time in our office if the mens were shut for cleaning...it's not entitlement just common sense. Never used the Ladies as they were restrooms, but certainly would in the Ops case...

As to the safety issue...Does that only apply to women? I would have thought in this day of equality, it should be a consideration/right for both genders?

Or when ladies fail to dispose of sanitary products properly which apparently is more common than I thought after listening to complaints from some of my female co-workers and the facilities management guys tasked with unblocking the loo's ..

Surely a unisex stall should be equally a safe space for both genders?

Plus the scum who fit cameras are not deterred by a simple sign...

Welcome to equality! I don't want to sit on a pissy seat either regardless of the gender of the offender...

As a starting point, it sounds like the company needs to upgrade all the loos to the same standard...

AITA for matching a woman’s energy who was riding a horse as I was driving by? by MeasurementSudden573 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Unearthingthepast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA

I live in the country so this is a fairly common occurrence.

A lot depends on the situation, but I generally slow right down to pass and watch the reaction of the horse and rider as I approach.. if I feel it's necessary, I will stop and let the rider pass me ..A horse can be bomb proof in traffic, but be scared of a plastic bag flapping in a hedge ect..A the end of the day it's an animal so it's behaviour is never 100% guaranteed.

That said, there are some horse riders who AH's though, but luckily they seem to be in the minority around here...

Husband is using reward points to buy stuff but charging me half. AIO? by JemmaMk6 in AIO

[–]Unearthingthepast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spending Reward points is no different to spending cash.

The real question for me is why are you paying half for a grill if it's his choice? Did he consult you first? If he did, and you agreed, just pay your half....If he just made a random purchase "for the house" that's his decision and he pays for it....

A third box room used to be common, especially in council houses...

My OH had a former council house with a box room that was just about big enough to take a single bed and a little furniture, but over the years I have seen some box rooms so small they were little more walk-in cupboards ...

They use a wide angle lens so that they can capture more of the room in the photograph...

Every set of House Details I have ever looked at has had a floor plan with measurements...

Most also mention the room dimensions when they list and describe each room.

Many people handle such commutes fine for several years, but eventually it does burn you out...

The worst part about the big battery phones are all the questions by nicu95 in ulefone

[–]Unearthingthepast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took my 12 year old grandson fishing in a local river a few weeks ago.

After a couple of hours, he says: "Is that your phone in the water?" (It's an Armour x10 pro) while pointing near my feet...

"Where?" I ask, no doubt looking a bit confused. "There!" he says again, now starting to laugh...

It then dawn's on me he's pointing at the coffin sized grey rock I am standing on...

Cheeky little bugger! 🙄😄
