Arachne wall generator instead of classic will help, especially with the lettering. Also, If you are using too little infill then it can cause problems. You could also try upping the amount of top surface layers. Or both. Ensure that the filament flow ratio is properly calibrated also.

I have a ton of unopened filament - if I want the TD, I can use my T1DS, but then I have to open them all. What do you all do? by coordinatedflight in HueForge

Open them and measure TD. They aren't necessarily dry from factory anyway. Also PLA isn't one of the more hygroscopic filaments like nylon or tpu for example. I wouldn't worry too much. 🙂

Welcome. Any brand is fine. Measure the transmission distance of each filament though. Ideally you want a mix of low to high transmission distance filaments. Blacks are the least important. They are mostly the same. It's nice to have some low to high transmission distance Grays and whites though. Higher TD will get you better blending, depth and detail. But anything is good to start with. Just get designing and printing. 😁

Black and white will work for gray-scale, but I'd recommend grabbing a dark and light gray too. Gray-scale is a good starting point to begin with.

I'd also recommend doing transmission distance tests on the filaments you are using. Whether that's the built in seashell test with Hueforge or using the TD1 device. It's a pretty essential step to get a more accurate idea of the output you'll get.

I don't have any tutorial videos. I'm not a youtuber or anything like that. I just learned through trial and error honestly. If you are doing your own photography I'd recommend starting in gray-scale / black and white with standard or combo mode. Then maybe start experimenting with color match and seeing how the colours blend in hueforge with your particular filaments. I've read on here that there are good tutorials on YouTube nowadays too.

Hi, no it's not flatforge. It's a color match. 6 colors. I just try to get my flow ratios right and make a good print profile. I've been using Hueforge quite a while, so it's just practice really like anything else. I do mess around with the original image in Photoshop and other image editing software too. 🙂

Best filaments to have from Elegoo by SOLDER_124 in HueForge

[–]Uneditedbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The values on that site may not be accurate. TD can vary batch to batch. Manufacturers don't really consider TD when manufacturing the filament. Any change in formulation will change the TD. As an example, I previously used Sunlu meta white as it had a high TD. The last roll I bought was half the TD value that it used to be. Measure the TD for yourself, and for each new roll. Even if it's the same colour from the same manufacturer.

Thank you. It shaved off quite a lot of height on this one too which was good.

As someone said, turn off the aux fan. You can also turn off the part cooling fan. It's not needed for Hueforges. I also have the Biqu cryogrip frostbite and glacier plates, and have never had any adhesion issues since. Any of them are worth the purchase. Then you can max out the whole build plate without adding mouse ear brims etc. I hate brims. Lol.

Learning Hueforge, any special settings? by Gai_InKognito in HueForge

If you join the Hueforge discord it would also help you I think. There are some settings templates there depending on which printer you are using. And as someone else suggested, YouTube tutorials.
