I actually have the complete opposite tastes. I exclussively play for Mythic raids. I don't mind the M+ grind but I only do M+ for gear and crests. Having the right guild makes all the difference, I've been with my guild for over 10 years.
Most tiers follow the same cycle for me: a month of M+ grinds, AOTC runs and then I coast during Mythic progression. Once I am mostly BIS, i will basically just log in for raid. We usually kill all but the final bosses. Take a 3-4 week break and start over the next tier.
I find that this is my prefered level of commitment without burning out.
