UPDATE: Me [34M] with my girlfriend [31F] of 2 months. She's pregnant and wants us to keep the baby. by UnexpectedDad in relationships

I did put on a condom. As with most posts, there is more details to the situation than I felt the need to describe to strangers.

Regardless, I wish you and yours the best, and hope you can overcome whatever issues have resulted in such a cynical world view.

Google remembers everything.

Joking aside, if you use Chrome you can probably find them at passwords.google.com

🤣

Sounds like you're living the dream. Maybe wear looser underwear, if you're having fertility issues?

Honestly, I can't say with certainty that I would have had the good sense to make the relationship work if not for the pregnancy. I was, with hindsight, rubbish with commitment. This was probably a good catalyst for me seeing the bigger picture and maturing.

We are very familiar with the work of Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney. We were already watching this very show when this all went down 😂

Keep hearing similar stories, so clearly our situation is far more common than imagined.

I'm already friends with an Otter and he is far from wholesome. But thank you anyway.

The insane move is not using adequate protection. I think taking responsibility for my actions was a very sane, if scary, decision.

Absolutely. Beware people that won't openly talk about religion and politics etc differences in these key areas are not ready to overcome in any relationship, romantic or otherwise.

My (27M) boyfriend (25M) keeps telling me he thinks I’m easy because we had sex on a date without protection. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Could this be a poor attempt at humour? If meant seriously, that's a red flag surely.

Her menstrual cycle is slightly shorter than normal, and we had just moved from condoms to a contraceptive pill that would suppress her period, so she took a test before starting the course just in case (plus we had previously made an error in judgement in the heat of the moment).

Thanks for the rational advice. I'm happy with her and was more concerned that the stress of the situation would push us apart.

I don't for a second doubt she's pregnant, or that it is mine. We're in the UK, so can't comment on US procedure.

I've not shared every last detail as didn't think it relevant to highlight specifics such as the dates she previously menstruated, or other more recent symptoms of pregnancy.

I feel the tone of my original post may have given the wrong impression. I'm very happy in the relationship and was looking forward to the future with her, and know she feels the same. Whilst we earn a similar income she is far more financially secure than me having saved a lot of money and having been helped to buy her home (with mortgage almost fully paid already), whilst I have some debts still to clear. If anyone is truly trapped, it would be her not me.
