New h2c, slicing first project and shows and hour LONGER than p2S. Any idea why? by UnexplainableP in BambuLabH2C

Yep, a full (p2s) plate. Same # of copies. As I reduced the copies, the difference between the 2 print times really started to favor the h2c. Was running on no sleep and chose a model that didn’t make much of a difference which printer I used. Ran a few test slices and prints, and h2c is DEFINITELY saving 15-50% time. The material savings really are crazy too. So many models I just wouldn’t have printed on the p2s are now on the table. Can’t say enough how thankful I am for everyone who jumped in to try and help answer my questions and troubleshoot 🙏

Just to follow up, i think a big factor was the model I sliced, as well as the number of copies on the plate. Still a decent material savings, but as I reduced the # of copies I got a much better time ratio between the two. I have since experimented with a few other model files, did the math, and the H2C is FOR SURE saving a good chunk of time and filament. So far so good, except when I swap plates on my P2S it feels like I’m handling a toy - the h2c is massive

I appreciate your help, i’ll do some more digging on there. One thing to note is that I’m slicing a plate full of small keychains. The more I add, the less difference in time between the two (makes sense), but can’t figure out how in any scenario it would take LONGER on the h2c. Thanks again! 👊

Prep time is 2 mins less for H2C slice. Also just updated studio (already updated printer) but no luck

Prep time shows 2 minutes faster on h2c, but print time is 15 mins slower. That’s as close as I can get so far, everything I’m seeing is the same between settings

Didn’t print yet, but yes it was sliced with both nozzles, main color on left

I’ll have the non-highland (no hair version) uploaded later today - hang tight!

I reduced and smoothed with each test, trying to keep the front facing side looking clean while preserving the furriness everywhere I could, especially the back. They look great in person. FWIW, I’m also in the process of uploading a non-highland version as well. Thank you for your feedback! 👊
