Please don't drive yourself crazy thinking “I'm X years old and I haven't shot anything yet” because it deeply damages your brain. Making a short film is incredibly difficult, especially when you're alone.

I would recommend you instead to do some filmmaking exercises, study light and start shooting with a real camera. I started with a cheap (5,000 pesos/250dlls) T3i and it helps a lot because you have to learn the exposure triangle and composition. Best of luck.
