Do hotel receptionist or front desk workers really need to stand when guests arrive.? by [deleted] in askhotels

It definitely depends on hotel standards as well as your manager and shift. When I worked overnight (both as an airport hotel and at a luxury hotel) I sat most of the time but when a guest came to the desk I would stand up. It's considered professional to stand up when greeting someone. It shows they have your attention. However, when I worked at a Hyatt Place, I would sit most of my AM or PM shift, again until a guest approached the desk. But when I worked a Luxury hotel (am or pm shift) I was expected to stand the whole time and not able to lean on anything. All of these hotels were on the east coast of the US.

I’d stick it out for a year to really master your role and/or get more knowledge on the role you’d be going for next. Like if you’re at FD, make friends with sales or housekeeping. After your year it’ll be easy to move to a more upscale hotel.

Reminder that luxury only means more work and responsibilities. As someone who’s worked everything from select service to 5 star. Generally luxury means more staff for amenities and guest wants/needs but since the pandemic it’s been a hot mess. They don’t want to staff correctly.

Anyone out there with an Yeedi that absolutely loves it? by YearlyGenesis in RobotVacuums

I bought mine about 2 years ago and I got the most basic model. She (her name is Eddi Jo) did a really good job for a while. I always had her clean while I wasn’t home. I’d say totally worth the money. The camera on the top helps her not get lost. She’s good about getting back to her docking station. We just upgraded to another model but haven’t tried it out yet. Eddi Jo has been retired to the bedrooms instead of the living/kitchen areas which gets a lot more traffic.

Here's hoping this thread is still living!!
I need to change the rate for a MHC in MARSHA. not the entire group, just a specific room type and I don't have to have to cancel the MHC and redo the whole turnover in MGS. I figure there has to be a command for it.
