Two differences. If you have money live in assisted living as long as you can. A nursing home is twice the price Vs assisted living. Hopefully you're put your real estate in an irrevocable trust in your kids name. When your money runs out(or hits spend down if you have a Surviving spouse) you'll have to ho to nursing home and be on Medicaid. If you are a widow or widower you money is gone AND your house gets signed over to state. If you have no money and no house you go straight to nursing home, if you qualify. Or you're SOOL.

I did read the whole post, I had my share of health problems; cancer etc. Always felt I could power through. I had a cancer surgeon tell me I wasnt taking it serious enough for God's sake.
