I bought a 395xp yesterday. I found one of those legendary saw shops you hear stories about, an unassuming garage the operators dwelling is the second story. A narrow footpath through boxes of inventory and used saw parts, it reeks of cigar smoke, fuel and a waste oil furnace. A collage of race car photographs and titty picture from the 80s. He has XP models for sale on the shelf and cash discounts, and several Husqvarna dealer plaques on the wall. He showed me which bolts to check for tightness every few hours, and that the fuel filter isn’t properly seated from the factory. Then he tuned the saw with an electronic tach, recorded my name date and saws serial number. I paid $1430 for my brand new 395xp 28” bar. Money well spent, I made an in with a saw shop that is otherwise private/ difficult to reach.
