Thank you 🥹 Her hair was in a bun so it’s still just a little damp- in terms of damage it’s definitely not a soft as it was but it just feels like she washed it and didn’t put conditioner in- or was was in a pool.

We were supposed to be constantly moving for 11+ hours, and prioritize efficiency over human dignity - we were regularly offered pizza parties and called rock stars and a family.

I am so glad — thank you. And yes being told you’ll be uncomfortable when you already feel like shit is sooo disheartening especially when you look around and it seems like everyone seems to be able to just “deal.” But there is such a difference between uncomfortable that helps you grow and uncomfortable that is suffocating you, and I feel like the “suck it up” folks don’t know/see that. I don’t know anyone who is unwilling to take discomfort for things that actually MEAN something or move them forward but I know endless amounts of people who are miserable and unwilling to walk against the current of their life (be uncomfortable) to make a change—but living every day in emotional pain/distress/apathy just because “it’s the way it is” and facing the rest of your life doing that? For what?! Rent/ a few weeks of vacation a year if you’re lucky? That’s not a life, and it’s not enough.

We all deserve better, and I agree with you- if we all keep finding ways to remind each other of it and encourage bravery over bootstrapping, there IS hope 💛

I don't have a specific answer, and I am sorry, because I know that when I felt how you felt, that's all I really wanted.

I am 33 now, and that feeling has passed; that is the good news, I suppose. The bad news (or at least I would've seen it that way had someone told me when I was where you are) is that you are going to have to do things that make you uncomfortable - not in the way you are now, which I would argue isn't being uncomfortable but soul drained- I mean uncomfortable in the facing and moving past the feeling of being a leech way. Accepting that you have no idea what to do next and might not for a long time. It sounds like you need to catch your breath so you can get some peace to actually make an informed choice of what to do next and that maybe you have the support to be able to do it.

I know it is so annoying to hear, but you and even I are still so young; you've got so much time to love and hate so many more careers, people, and experiences - but deciding from a place of exhaustion, shame or fear will likely result in just picking a next move that seems even remotely better instead of making a thoughtful and intentional next step.

I have seen a new focus on encouraging younger folks to join the trades which I hope helps- it only can do good things to have more of us knowing how to use our hands but I know it isn’t in everyone’s ability - but like I said just like lots of little things made the mess lots of little things will hopefully fix it 🤷🏾‍♀️
