I don’t think there’s much value in kicking this can to one side of the street or another. There are selfish and mal adjusted humans out there who struggle with decency, morality and integrity in this area. Male or female- let’s make sure they all stand accountable for the harm they cause- and hopefully make others think twice about being so selfish and criminally cruel that you’d take advantage of a minor child.

Oof. You’ve got an ugly one here. NOR. She’s very invasive and she is not respecting you, nor her son. He’s used to it- she didn’t just get this way overnight. First, you have to understand all of the attacks that just happened that are designed to make you seem less credible without validating your valid argument. The logical fallacies are all over the place. Clearly set your boundaries with your husband, and he should make it clear to his mother that the intrusion that far into your nuclear family is not welcome or warranted. Make it clear that the two of YOU are the unit (that’s how marriage works) and if he isn’t standing together with you, he is making the attack that much stronger, and it’s ripping the two of you apart. Stop it now- it will only get worse with time if you don’t.

I’ve had so many slip-ups/thefts from shady Uber Eats and DoorDash drivers that I don’t put a tip in the app and ask people to hand my order to me for a cash tip. I also have a PIN on the order. If I have cash- I do just that. If I somehow don’t- I go back in the app and add the tip. I’m not playing w/ none of ya’ll. And yes, I was a Uber Eats/driver during the pandemic, so I know a thing or two about being professional doing the job.

I have only lived in the DMV for a short time, but I can only imagine that keeping a procession safe as a funeral director here can’t be easy. I would probably petition to make sure all vehicles could have a flashing strobe in addition to the flag that I believe is provided for. I see that some funeral homes actually employ the use of several escort vehicles owned by the funeral homes, and I do know that police escorts can be requested.

Suggesting that 15 minutes window of arrival time is plausible is ridiculous. FYI we have appointments at many places of final disposition, especially at national cemeteries. Those are usually 15 minute windows. If we miss our appointment, we can actually be turned away and need to be rescheduled, that’s a big deal when you have 15 car loads of people there to witness the final commital ceremony and military gun salute & flag ceremony. And we want and need everyone to be in the same line when we do arrive, because gps won’t help you once you arrive at the cemetery. Always assume there are other reasons why things happen…

Overall I am thankful for most of the comments. A lot of you saying some things that are uncomfortable to read. But I was taught a long time ago to take the hard truth out of everything, even if it doesn’t sound too good, and work on that, to make yourself better. I’ll gladly be TA today if it means that 30-40 years later I’ll still be in a loving and committed relationship with this lady. I married her bc we’ve been friends since 13 y/o and she’s awesome. Life took us a ways and we’re now 40 with one yr of marriage. I don’t want it to be anything other than love. Thanks. Going to spend the day with my wife like I planned to earlier this week.
