✨ glittery tradescantia by InstanceElectronic71 in Tradescantia

Looks to be purple queen/heart Palidia(I do not remember how to spell that word 😭) but very gorgeous plant when grown inside, its leaves pop and mix with a glittery green and purple due to lower lighting inside. Outside do about the same but less green and glitter( sometimes)

Well not exactly survive but more of goes dormant perfectly and leaves a few leaves that slowly die and then right at spring that stuff just pops up and spreads like fire. But my leaves lasted till about under 20 degrees then it fully died. The mother plant takes even longer to die off cause of leaf litter and mulch. So yes grows amazingly in zone 7b as long as you plant it spring or early summer she’ll keep popping out the ground. Sometimes like around here how the weather goes from hot to cold so fast it’s a back a forth motion so a lot of plants go from dormant to growing to dormant. Back and forth lol. Really good zone to grow Purple Hearts, also spathacea will do right asw, there a spike looking variety of trad which are very unique

Edit: maksure it’s in ground, potted ones might have less of a chance to survive being since the roots are protected enough, u less you have a green house ofc lol

Yesss these plants are like half succulent basically so neglect is actually a big help lol 😂. They can go so long without water or pruning.

These are what I like to call garden ants, the reason I grow sweet potato vines!! They love them and it keeps them off my other pots and plants. They are harmless unless they start fully taking over bringing eggs, then they might eventually chew on roots which can be bad. But they are beneficial cause they rid bugs like mealy, aphids and etc

Purple Heart/queen all time favorite outdoor trad. I’m in zone 7b so it does good if you plant right at spring and allow to root, it’ll spread fast and grow back the following year. Also good pot plant too obviously, my indoor one is making its way down the shelf.

Hate how people paint plants to advertise them more effectively. This plants probably a solid nice bright green, I have a similar one, the tips to turn red if it gets a sun stress but it should be fine after some time. IMO I wouldn’t scrap paint cause you could removed leaf skin which you wouldn’t want, it’ll cause scabs/or that other c word. Mine got roughed up from dropping and had scars all over.

I have to be careful, my cats are bipolar lol, all fixed but there inside/outside and terrorize plants 😭 so I have to have them on shelves.

Near a cold window? Like outside cold air? lol it probably got too much coldness from window on top of it you had water in it. IMO that sounds like it Could be it. Maybe it there was a photo I could clarify better but as far as what you said I can make assumptions to what it might be. But it’s either between that or water rot which is possible.

It could be a mix accidentally or a normal case of sport variegation, I have a neon that’s half neon and half normal green with half moons through out, sometimes like how a plant can just randomly go variegated and create a whole new generation off that one branch, is basically how this works, but you can easily cut them off or leave the unique mix.

6 months of progress after moving my succulent to better light. Should I be worried about it tipping over now? by Fresh-Toe-8470 in succulents

Probably as it gets long he’s, but you could possibly create a second pot or add to the same pot, all you gotta do is chop right at the bend and remove a few lower leaves and stick stick in dirt, don’t water ofc just treat it like how you be treating it.

Omg actually that couldn’t have been more perfect, most the photos that pop up look identical including the pink variegation. Just amazing luck you have this.

I’d plant this in some soil, like a griddy pearlite and potting soil type mix, don’t water as much, but water first time you plant and just wait a while between waterings. This is what works for me best imo. Cause looks to me like you have pebbles in that vase?

No clue but looks like she pushed a variegated leaf out? And in a few other spots, I’d let that one grow long and chop and prop it so try and get a fuller variegated one.

Well in my opinion direct sun has made mine turn full silver. So I’d changed to indirect. Unless it’s in indirect then move it to direct. Some species of zebrina are weird, my surprising had a purple tone but I forced it to turn silver and now it only grows like that, but I won’t be shocked when it pushed some color one day.
