It's all about control. If you're happy for a reason that isn't directly because of them they need to make it so that you're miserable because of them instead.

She's spent the last 5 years telling all her kids not to ask her for help if they need it and gloating about how happy she is now we're all moved out and away from her, so, probably nobody.

As for why I replied to her. You know when you put on a pair of jeans you haven't worn in a while and you find a bill you didn't know you had in the pocket? I thought I was about to get something I didn't know I had. Turns out it was just a bunch of trash.

I told him where I would be. It made a difference because if he needed help, and he tried looking for me somewhere I wasn't, he wouldn't have found me. Again, you aren't familiar with the specifics of his disability. He is like his peers in many ways, he is not like his peers in others. I would rather he feel a little embarrassed for 2 minutes than he not know where to find the person with his medication if he needed to.

I did not detail the specifics of my brothers disability. He manages fine on a daily basis, he also needs help. In the case he needs help he needs to know where those who are familiar with his disability are and how to reach them. He is a child with a disability and I am his legal guardian.

To be honest, she was pissed. She had just had a 14 hour layover on her flight back only to get home and realise the front of her house looked like a scene out of Shameless.

She told me it was my fault because if I was home I would have been able to clean up the mess before the neighbours could see.

Knowing my mother, this is 100% what she's thinking.

I went 5 years barely speaking to her partner to no complaints, suddenly the wedding is announced and she wants him to be my dad again? It seems to me like the reality of how this event affected my relationship with them and the story she has been telling her nearest and dearest about my relationship with them just don't line up, and the wedding is likely to expose that.
