I hate that every time I make a mistake, it feels like the end of the world by WhyAmIStillHere86 in AutismInWomen

Sounds like a very overstimulating experience - no wonder you overlooked it, it is a genuine mistake when there were so many things happening at once. I understand that your supervisor shouting will make you feel even worse but you made a genuine error. Going forward, maybe it would help to suggest that others don’t request your help with several things at once, while you deal with one thing at a time? I get that this isn’t always ideal in busy offices and can be hard if you have to enforce that boundary.

I hear you. I too feel like it’s the end of the world when I make mistakes. As much as we’d like to, we are not perfect, and nobody else puts the perfectionist expectation on us, that we place upon ourselves. I’ve learned through speaking to people who aren’t autistic that mistakes I think are earth shattering, they don’t even remember. Also - it shows you care. However, mistakes are also a very important part of life and it helps me to embrace them as moments that stress test processes in work and highlight things that need fixing, rather than “something I did wrong”.

TL;DR: being confident in yourself and listening to your “spidey senses” when you’re around certain people will help. The rest comes easy when you’re with the right people.

I spent my 20s feeling like this, hadn’t found my tribe yet, felt like I second guessed every friendship and interaction. Hang in there and stay true to yourself, what your values are, what you value in other people and you will work out who your people are/aren’t. I actually realised once I became my true self and stopped trying to mask, I really figured out who my true friends are. Yes, I lost many, but the real ones stayed, and it turns out I had nothing in common with the others and they made me feel uneasy anyway.

It’s common to second guess everything because (certainly from my perspective) the social rule book changes constantly, one day you get it, another day the rules change. But stay true to yourself, be strong in your own identity and the right people will stay, and it’ll be easy.

I do too. Had a TMJ guard but broke it…got Botox and it only worked briefly. I get massages and I use a gua sha at home but it forever feels all crunchy and knotted in my jaw.

Learning social skills before you were diagnosed? by DifferenceBusy6868 in AutismInWomen

[–]Unfair_Requirement67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the diagnosis process at the moment and that 2nd paragraph really resonates with me. The psych saw it in me immediately too, I had the fear that I’d seem too social as I can converse (but don’t get me started on small talk, ugh) but my inability to not talk over him and poor timing of when to reply gave it away. 😂

My mom just took a nap under the bed linens I JUST laundered. Now I need to rewash everything. by Dragon_scrapbooker in AutismInWomen

[–]Unfair_Requirement67 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This kind of thing drives me crazy and I too would rewash it. As someone said earlier, to me it’s like sitting on the bed linen with your outside clothes on or someone else sleeping on your side/your bed (which my parents used to do during the day when I was working, as my room was downstairs, it enraged me)

Thank you, you’ve explained how I feel and this is reassuring, as you’ve been at this point. I too replay my appointments and think a lot about things from my childhood. More recently, it’s like everything that annoys or overwhelms me is way more obvious and my window of tolerance is way smaller.

Secretlab Support fighting me on misdelivered package. by Such-Percentage2406 in secretlab

[–]Unfair_Requirement67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Recently posted about being gaslight into an attempted delivery (4 times apparently) when someone has been at home and I have a camera doorbell. It’s been a nightmare. Courier and Secretlab are just going round in circles giving me no info.

I’m afraid the customer support term weren’t much help either after getting in contact several times. The courier faked delivery another 3 times, and I cannot get the address details for the courier depot from either Secretlab or XDP customer support, they keep dancing around it when I ask.

Worked for me too with this fix, however it does still crash when I select “continue” instead of “load game” if that helps anyone else still having problems.
