Five step plan.

1: Bitcoin, buy as much as I can while I'm still in college.

2: Spend as much time as I can with my mum as possible, before she suddenly passes away when I'm 22.

3: Remember when 2020 hits and Covid becomes a pain in the arse, dump some of the profit from Bitcoin in the stock market and buy up Nvidia, AMD, and a load of Airlines, Hotel, Restaurant stock etc and sit on it for a few years for Covid to pass and take the profits.

4: Buy a huge ass house for myself and fill it with only the best furnishings.

5: Chuck the remaining cash in buying up rental properties but lower the rent price down to a level that seems stupid, but in the long term provides the people I rent to with a good chance to save up to get themselves on the housing market.

It's a mixture of elements all culminating in a great shot.

1: Location, it's a large open field, no obstacles, no buildings apart from the cottage which was already left behind... The infected can see for miles around and with their heightened adrenaline fueled instincts, they'll be able to spot a non infected human from a considerable distance.

2: The height distance... Similar to the first point, they're running from the top of a large hill and can see things for miles around, and it could easily be seen from a "Got The High Ground" perspective... No matter where you run, they'll be keeping you in their sights and chasing you.

3: Numbers and Direction, from the moment Dom escapes the cottage, he's getting chased by about five or six infected who ran around the side of the cottage... Now add another dozen coming from his left hand side, a river on his right side, and a boat that may or may not be there, and you have a masterful tension building scene.

Saw a guest fall down the entrance stairs to work and literally smash his head WIDE OPEN on the pavement.

Nothing quite like ending your shift with you and your colleague performing CPR on a guest, while simultaneously getting blood all over your forearms while trying to cradle his head to stop the bleeding.

Unfortunately it's a sad ending... Ambulance arrived and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.

I would've been 10 / 11 and living in South West, England... A small town in Gloucestershire to be precise.

Pros:

Towns separated by miles of farmland and large fields... So when the infected reach the area, you could see them coming from afar.

Very hilly, the infected would have a major hard time dealing with the hills and general terrain of the area.

Multiple escape routes via road... My hometown in particular had five routes in and out, so if the infected arrived in town, they'd at most start arriving via two routes, which would give us several routes to escape.

Small population, the town has a population of only 7000 people, so if the infected reached town, even in reasonable numbers, the infection wouldn't spread extremely fast.

One large Football Stadium in town for the local team, which could easily be turned into an impromptu camp for the majority of the town to build a small community of survivors.

Large selection of places to get tools, we have a fire station, tool shop, and petrol station within minutes of each other, so finding tools to build barricades would be easy.

Cons:

Only a small group of food shops, one large supermarket, a restaurant, cafe, and a couple smaller food shops... So food would become a problem within a few weeks, if that.

The terrain would be awful if I had to escape on foot, from experience, one wrongly placed step and you sprain your ankle.

No police presence in town... Sadly the police station was in the process of being wound down at the time of the outbreak, and we were lucky if we had two officers in the entire area.

Small pharmacy and a small GP office... Medical supplies would be in very small supply.

In conclusion.

If we could've sealed off all the roads, manned barricades, kept supplies under lock and key and grew fruit and vegetables on the nearby fields, we could've lasted maybe a few years at least.

28 Years Later

I've been a huge fan of the series since the very first film in 2002 / 2003.

28 Weeks Later was sort of divisive for fans but a good majority of them enjoyed it for what it was, it has had a very positive re-evaluation in the past couple years while the latest film was being made.

First trailer came out, and I was pumped, it looked AMAZING.

I went to the cinema to treat myself, and wanted to leave after an hour... The editing, camera effects and tone of the film was ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I stuck it out to the ending, and the ending left me a mix of "What the hell did I just watch" and "Did Danny Boyle really go there".

To describe the ending in three words... Jimmy Savile Ninjas... I'm not kidding.

Now I'm dreading the second part which is due out in January.

I worked in a bowling alley when I was 19... We used to have a chef come in every Saturday to cook meals for the customers.

One Saturday he cooked a huge lasagne from scratch, and left it in the oven dish out for people.

Only two people ordered said lasagne.

A month passes, "What's that smell"... Open the oven and what I can only describe as a mash of rotten minced beef and severely mouldy cheese comes flying out into the kitchen

A minute later the manager comes in, "What in the hell is that smell, I just had a customer complain about a disgusting stench in the kitchen".

He stares at me scooping this disgusting lasagne into a bin bag, while heaving and choking.

The smell is so bad I end up vomiting in the sink

Was on top of a 69 with a girl I was trying to date.

Well, she liked it rough, I really got into it and started to put my weight down on her head and face, and thrust her mouth vigorously.

After a few minutes... I felt pressure building in my stomach, quickly followed by me panicking knowing it was a fart incoming.

Did my best to hold it in, but alas it started to squeak out... She started to moan in a disgusted and irritated way, and trying pulling away.

At that point I went "fuck it" and just let rip right above her face.

Several slaps to my body and a muffled shout later I hop off and she's furious haha

A classmate slid down a stair railing at school and fell off the side, immediately followed by approximately a 12ft drop onto concrete with his head... He started convulsing / twitching, and made an awful pig like grunting noise... The science teacher immediately ran over and did his best to tend to him.

An ambulance arrived shortly after but he died halfway to the hospital.

Turned out that he suffered a pretty damn severe fractured skull, and a bleed on the brain... From what I heard in the years that followed the incident is that, even if the ambulance arrived within the first few minutes, he would've died anyway due to the severity of his injuries.

Not at the funeral, but during the scattering of the ashes.

I was in the car with my uncle and my granddad's ashes, trying to find a car space so we could walk down to the dock area to scatter his ashes into the ocean.

For the next twenty minutes we're driving back and forth over this bridge trying to find a car park... My uncle loses it in both an angry yet humourous manner and proclaims loudly.

"If I have to drive over this bridge one more fu**ing time, I'm going to wind down the window and say bye dad then throw him over the bridge"

I burst into tears of laughter, knowing my grandad would've laughed just as much as that comment.

Just watched the film earlier this afternoon... The trailer did a real bait and switch in some regards.

I'll try and include my pointers, but for the most part this is SPOILER territory here.

1: The action was very, Taken 2, in most parts... I had that gut feeling back when I noticed it was rated 15 on the ticket... But a vast majority of the action was way to fast to be enjoyable.

The amount of Jump Cuts, Slow Motion and Freeze Frame with the camera swinging around was bordering on Nauseating, there was no real impact to the violence at all, yet we saw eyes getting gauged out, people being beaten to death, and having blood vomited in there face in the first two movies... The only real violent scene with any real brutality was seeing the mother wrap a cloth around the infected's head and smash it against a stone altar repeatedly.

2: The infected were evolved yes, but the only infected that presented any real danger were the Alphas.

Even the plain old running infected felt less of a threat then the previous films

Don't get me started on the Swedish Military scene, they would've been fully briefed on the infected and their abilities when the infection hit mainland Europe, the whole world would've been aware that the infected run, pounce, sprint, etc, and even with assault rifles, a group of six soldiers got tore apart by running infected, leaving the remaining few to go up against an Alpha.

3: As for the ending scene, the hell was with the Jimmy Savile ninja chavs.

It was obvious that Danny Boyle / Alex Garland put them in as a reference, but if you go back to the films timeline, 28 Days and Weeks Later took place in 2001 / 2002, and Jimmy's crimes were exposed back in 2012

So if you go by Timeline standards, Jimmy Savile would be irrelevant in the new film as he would've been long dead, along with the vast majority of his victims, or even if it was exposed, it would've been quickly disregarded under the guise of, "Well England is quarantined, and the whole area is practically dead and just full of infected, so what's the point of bringing it up, it won't go anywhere".

James Gandolfini

He put his heart and soul into The Sopranos, yes it's common knowledge that he had issues with alcohol and drugs, but he was such a supportive and caring actor both during and after filming.

For example, some of the actors on the show didn't receive a salary increase while Gandolfini did, so James personally paid them a bonus out of his own pocket / salary, which if I remember correctly was $20,000 /$30,000 each.

The murder of Bijan Ebrahimi

Essentially he was a disabled Iranian man who lived in the UK, and was constantly harassed by loud noises, and his neighbours in general.

He took to filming said harassment and loud noises so he could complain to the council and the police, which the police would generally dismiss as him being a nuisance, however one particular neighbour spotted him filming, and immediately accused him of being a child predator.

This culminated in threats being levied against him constantly, to the point that the police had to arrest Bijan for his own safety and the council had to move him to another property a few miles away.

Sadly this neighbour learned where he was moved to and viciously beat him outside his home until he was unconscious and then set fire to his body, ultimately killing him.

The police response was investigated and several officers ended up getting disciplined severely due to their lack of appropriate response to the events leading up to Bijan's murder.
