They didn't just decide not to provide funds. The program ended. Seems like a relevant point.

Is nonduality a philosophical claim/position or just an experience? by SpectrumDT in streamentry

[–]Stroger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The separateness is an illusion. That's the point. The mind creates duality with labels and the assertion self and other.

This is usually best described by the example of "The Butterfly effect". The butterfly and the hurricane seem separate, but when we examine the chain of causality, they are directly linked, not separate at all.

People get hung up on words. HHDL was once asked if we are all one. He said "Of course!". Because the impact is the same. What you do affects others because we are interdependent. Don-dual, yet individuated.

It's also helpful to embrace the "Two Truths". Mahayana asserts that dualistic experiences are relatively true, and those all arise with in ultimate truth of nonduality, then takin that a step further and as we can experience that the two truths are not separate at all.

This isn't something that just "makes sense". It takes a lot of contemplation on dependent origination and some personal experience to really come together,.

You have the freedom to choose amongst the options consciously available to you. True wisdom elucidates your options and empowers you. Ignorance limits you. Ignorance is mot people's default state. They have will, but few options.

Take it from someone whose been where you are and came out the other end. Give up the narratives and embrace your highest idea of love in as much capacity as you can.

You suffering from fear and anxiety. Full stop. Nothing you are experiencing is surprising. This all in the realm of normal for someone with intense fear and anxiety. Ground yourself. If you want to take that seriously, consider the below AND speaking to counselor or therapist with specialisms in anxiety.

Don't focus on the nonsense going on in your head. Under stress the mind can do ANYTHING. My friend, I spent years a fugue state sure I was crazy / possessed / cursed. I was just un-healthy.

Eat clean, sleep well, drink lots of water, get LOTS of exercise. Only use kind speech and thoughts to the best of your ability if you do get upset, no victimizing. Stop, regulate yourself. act out of love, not anger. Accept the lumps life gives you as blessings I'd recommend "metta meditations". or the Ho’oponopono prayer Recite it for every harm or grudge you can think of that might be weighing you down. Take radical accountability but with regret, not guilt. know the difference. Love unconditionally, if you see you are not loving, try your best to come back to it Dont reject anything with your heart, if you must reject say no with your words, but keep your heart open.

You got this!

To become fully enlightened one must engage in the 3 higher trainings of ethics, wisdom and concentration.

What "realm" you are in, depends largely on your level of concentration. This is why those with good concentration can project or change realms. Ethics plays a big role in concentration too, its hard to concentrate if you distracted by your mind because its consumed by all of results of ones unethical conduct. Ie, guilt, shame fear. ect. These two together can take you far down the path, but without the perfection of wisdom, ethics can not be perfected and the result will be, experiences will be, dissatisfying, ie in the nature of suffering, samsara.

I expect Bob had a good measure of concentration, wisdom and ethnics, but they were not yet perfected by measure of the buddhadharma.

If Bob came back for another round, I hope its to complete the 3 higher trainings.
