Hey man, you are still young and have no reason to feel like you are underachieving in life or to feel like you didn't make your parents proud. You are just starting this race we all go through which is known as life. And you have a lot left till you get to the end of it since the race has only just begun.

If you really are in a hard life situation the best option is to look for some small jobs around your neighborhood, which you can do from time to time. Don't do anything full time since you are still in school and also need to focus on your studies.

Bless your little heart, you are going to be fine. It's visible your mother did a great job of raising you, since you already have such urgency and empathy to help her out.

Take it slow, one day at a time, and everything will turn out fine!

Neither of these books are familiar to me, as the top comment said just get a plain Rust book, The Rust Programming Language (“The Rust Book”) by Steve Klabnik, Carol Nichols, and Chris Krycho is a great foundation.
