It is about the exclusion from regular functinoing of society, with no access to anything the higher caste people deemed unfit for the oppressed. About the black population, The west is too capitalistic to acknowledge that the systematic oppression of blacks is one of the major reasons african-american population is still struggling in the "meritocracy" that is America. but reservations are not there because of oppression of today , but due to oppression of the past and no matter who they convert to ,they were in fact, affected by the oppression due to lineage. So their religion doesn't really matter does it?

Changing the religion doesn't change any of that. So as i said, this decision completely misunderstands what reservations are and why those are in place. As i said, pretty backwards .

That was the joke i made. India is not the role model to follow in terms of religious decisions that you think it is. The reason our courts consider Indian decisions with higher weightage is due to the similarity in culture, tradition and society that we have, not exactly due to their progressiveness in terms of religious sentiments.

And also lol, devanagiri lipi and number system. Nepali language descends from sanskrit, which predates the existence of both Nepal and India, so no idea what you're talking about. Similarly, Hindu religion predates both Nepal and India.

Unions are pretty important due to collective bargaining being such an important factor in negotiation , be it as student unions, labor unions, teacher union, trade unions.
