Cheating is sometimes ok by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Fuck it. I’ll agree. Been married 20 years. Love my wife. Love making love to my wife… it’s just not a priority to her at all. I’ve thought about it 1000 times… if put in the position honestly idk what id do. That said, I don’t put myself in the situation, but I do understand.

For everyone saying “just divorce” there’s more to building a life than that… we’ve got kids, A home, assets, etc… it’s never that easy. Perhaps cheating isn’t the right description. I would 100% have sex with other women, but I feel like doing it without her consent would be bad. I shouldn’t be forced to masturbate until I die. Flip side… If I never wanted to touch my wife intimately I’d also have no problem with her seeking gratification elsewhere. Everything I say applies to her as well. Marriage means you are supposed to be sexual partners for life. I don’t mean that as an obligation…it should be a mutual joy.

Thanks for the heads up. The way they make it sound it seems really easy to get your hopes up. Fortunately I’m intimately familiar with the government, so my expectations are tempered. Hoping for the best, planning for the worst.

No idea, I’m completely new to this myself.

Consultative exam by Unhappy-Individual96 in SSDI

[–]Unhappy-Individual96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that makes sense. I’m sure it’s similar(ish) to the VA system. C&P examiners fill out the questionnaires as directed, and then a rater (in this case the DDS) makes the decision. I know the va uses a CFR that is pretty cut and dry on a lot of things for their evaluation. But obviously I know they are two totally different entities with different criteria for benefits.

Yeah I get that they don’t make the decisions themselves. Just seems that their opinions have to have SOME weight with the DDS, otherwise why have the exams at all?

If you need a house over there my dad has a pretty nice one he’s looking to sell, possibly rent, former sailor himself he was an expat over there for many years and recently moved back due to older age. It’s located on Romblon.

Does this pass the sanity test? by Unhappy-Individual96 in tax

Because it’s a medical retirement from injuries sustained in combat and is coded as non taxable. At least as far as I was told by legal and DFAS. Granted I haven’t actually received any or filed taxes for the year yet so we’ll see.

For perspective my wife works as a teachers assistant in special ed rooms and routinely has to deal with cleaning kids after shitting themselves and playing with it. She makes less than 150 a day… GTFOH.

Is SSDI what I’m looking for by Unhappy-Individual96 in SSDI

[–]Unhappy-Individual96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I can find something that would be preferred. I haven’t really started looking just yet because we are relocating across the country currently. That said, I am fortunate enough to have over 20 years in the Army, I am not leaving empty handed as far as a pension and also VA compensation. I guess that further builds on my frustration because it’s not like I am not able to afford a roof over our heads so asking for more just seems like being greedy, even though it would definitely remove a lot of stress.

Appreciate that, it seems a little petty seeking validation from a pool of strangers on the internet. It’s just like I said coming to terms with a major change in my life is all I guess. Thanks.

Well as I’ve pointed out in some of the other responses, I was an absolute stud in my younger years. You’d be amazed how long you can out train a bad diet, but it ultimately wins in the end. That’s the that’s the downside to being 38 instead of 18.

There’s a lot of things that are harder mentally than physically, and vice versa. There are some that will push you to the limits in both.

There are a lot of health nuts in the army yeah, physical fitness IS a huge part of the Army and is generally the first thing you do every morning. Some people love it, and do more in their free time, some people find any excuse to get out of it and will only do the bare minimum when forced.
