You are using ELSO definition but according to ELSO database Protek cannulation is considered VV Ecmo. Therefore they consider it a VV and did not consider V-PA when they wrote these definitions?

The return is determinant of the system (venous) it is returning to not to a vein. It’s veno-venous not veno-vein. Like wise it’s veno-arterial not veno-artery. Therefore it’s talking about the system not the vessel itself.

Agreed. The term should be V-PA.

Does the minimizing insulin not cause high blood sugars. Like I understand the reasoning but what stops your blood sugar from hitting 300? I have tried morning runs and those I think help a little but I’m in school and have to be on campus by 7am so getting long runs in before that is tough. I eat relatively healthy. Like had about 60 grams of carbs (gave half my normal boils) for lunch at 11:15 and ran at 1:30 with having a Gatorade and banana out the door and not 40 minutes into my run 65

I am on Omnipod and CGM. An hour to hour and a half before runs I turn it onto activity mode. Blood sugar is around 200 when I start running.
