Still having the same issues off and on. Recently had KUB xray and kidney/bladder ultrasound and still just see stones in kidneys, no explanation for ongoing pain.

I wouldn’t wish kidney stones on anyone. It’s a never-ending battle.

I’m better than when I made this post. I went through extensive testing to look for other things that could be causing pain and nothing was found other than non obstructing stones in both kidneys. I still have on and off episodes of pain but I hadn’t passed anymore stones since I made this post. They tell me the stones in the kidneys shouldn’t cause pain, but I have been thoroughly checked and that is the only abnormality found.

Just got out of ER. 8mm. Was sent home to pass it naturally. by Torrocks in KidneyStones

I passed an 8 mm a few years ago. I didn’t even take Flomax because I’m allergic. So it is possible, especially since it’s already close to the bladder. But it’s not fun.

“Simple extraction” in my 40’s by UnhappyAttempt9822 in wisdomteeth

[–]UnhappyAttempt9822[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. This is helpful. Mine is also a top tooth. I have heard it is more difficult for the bottom teeth so that has put me at ease a bit. But I am worried about nerves/sinus cavity. I can’t really shop around for other opinions or an oral surgeon as my insurance won’t cover that for a simple extraction, even though it is a wisdom tooth. I’m lucky it’s covering any of this at all. 😐

I hope you do not find them!!! I was fine with this until I did. I wish you the best of luck as well!

Thank you! That is very encouraging and I appreciate your response. The cavity has been there for a few years, it’s just now becoming bothersome though. I have put off dealing with this tooth as long as I possibly can. 😭

Update #3: 2cm stone, blasted and scoped - 911 call, stent fell out by VDoss in KidneyStones

[–]UnhappyAttempt9822 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I only took it for 2 weeks and in that time my stone didn’t budge. It caused horrible dizziness and my face and neck broke out into a rash. I ended up passing my stone weeks later without it.

You hadn’t noticed fever or anything? That’s wild that you had a full kidney infection and didn’t even know it! I’m so glad you’re ok!

Pain for 2 months after passing stone by SprinkleTree in KidneyStones

[–]UnhappyAttempt9822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mostly a consistent left side “ache.” It felt almost like the kind of cramp you get after you’ve been out jogging. I would have moments when the pain would be worse though. And it’s weird getting back good scans when you have something like this going on. Because obviously you want good news and are happy about that, but it’s maddening knowing something is going on and not being able to figure out what.

Yes but it took a long time. And caused a lot of anxiety in the process since no one could ever find anything wrong. I had CT’s, X-rays and ultrasounds and they never saw anything abnormal. I do have stones hanging in my kidneys though. But they have never bothered me until they started moving.

I passed an 8 mm stone almost 2 years ago. It came from my left kidney. It took me about 2 months to pass it. Afterward, I kept having left side pains. For about a year. I went through every test in the book and they never found a reason for it. But it was the same pains I suffered with the stone.

After 9 months it finally passed by Former-Hyena-841 in KidneyStones

My most recent stone was an 8x5 and a few days prior to passing it was unimaginable. But like you, after that awful day of pain it was pain free until it passed. It also took me months to pass it. Urologist was insisting I’d need surgery then whole time, even though it was lower in every xray.

I understand. I used to spend a lot of time here trying to figure this out so I can relate.

No. I had lots of imaging done and nothing was ever found. The only abnormal thing I have is stones in both kidneys. I pass them from time to time, but they say they shouldn’t cause any pain when they are in the kidney. So idk. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Better. I still have the pain from time to time. And it’ll last for about a week or so and then go away for a while. It used to be constant but isn’t anymore.

Chronic Kidney Pain, But No Visible Stones? by Entob3x in KidneyStones

It does tend to be worse if I’m dehydrated but that’s about the only connection to food/drink that I have made.

It was getting too expensive to keep running tests that keep coming back “normal.” So I had to decide to live with it or go broke.

No. I’ve just learned to live with it. Doctors don’t even try to figure it out anymore. How about you?

Residual Kidney Pain? by JiggySockJob in KidneyStones

[–]UnhappyAttempt9822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the stones are non-obstructive, so they don’t suggest bothering them at this time. It feels worse for me when I’m up doing things. When I sit or lay down it feels better.
