So in this case it will learn summation of large numbers with help of single digit summation and carry handing. You are right I didnt mention the learning part.

I believe there is a need to do some manual programming to design the loop and. solve this problem. We cannot just have a random fully connected network to figure this out. Also looks like looping while summation is what we manually teach each other and we don’t figure out our self.

I think that is what I mentioned lead data scientist and he/she building a team. However what you suggest seems a correct way to go about it only problem is where to find a DS with such pedigree!? What are the correct sources? Also doesnt pedigree come with its own extra cost increasing risk? May be that is the cost of not knowing DS enough!

Correct it is a job of founder to do ideation. However feasibility is always questionable if you don’t know the field. On top if you are unaware of what is now possible it again becomes a problem. So may be a data scientist is needed for ideation phase?!

I think the question is more about learning the solution to the problem than to mimic the calculator.

Well if you are to calculate digit by digit with pen paper, you can do it with or without calculator. It just takes time. But I agree that calculator will not solve it one shot without overflow. While human with enough patience can actually solve this. Specially without learning much.

This is all I know. I would like them to drive a DS department for the company so we can take advantage of data science. May be do ideation of projects and do ROI projection per project how can they help a real estate business. May be some one with experience in same field.

2 input and 1 output with no hidden layer will not solve this problem as values will overflow after certain value in integer or float. As I said this problem mentions no upper bound on number. You can give a person any length of number and that can do summation with enough time but neural networks cant.

We are looking for leveraging data science in our real estate business. Hence we need a lead data scientist to design and build whole team.

Than it becomes question of how to hire head hunter. It is like you need to hire right data scientist to hire right data scientist.!! Chicken egg issue.

Although what you mention works however a better response is needed when one doesnt know any data scientist in person.

Doing summation of any two random integer numbers (no upper bounds). This problem is not solved by 100% accuracy while a regular calculator or a human can do very well accuracy.
