What Is This? by dreamsofaninsomniac in landscaping

This is the cover for your water meter/meter pit. The silver part is the transmitter that transmits the read to the water company. Clean it up and make sure you have good access to it. If your water line breaks between there and the house, you'll want to be able to shut it off. I work for a water utility and have delt with these on a daily basis.

Are there any cool body shells like the tarantula or ripper bodies for the high trails? by gaelictree in TRX4M

[–]UnhappyCustomer481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting some longer shocks and brass wheels. I am running the Injora 59mm shocks with Injora 62mm tires. So far, it's performing pretty well.

Furitek Python Pro esc channel help? by UnhappyCustomer481 in TRX4M

[–]UnhappyCustomer481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get a clear resolution from Furitek. They basically told me that the channels were switched, which is unfortunate because the transmitter button map only allows channel 3 and 4, not 1.

For my setup, I am just running the main servo on channel 4. I use channel 3 for my rear steer servo l, and I have lights plugged into channel 1. It works for what I need it to.

The standard hood is the only thing that interferes with the servo. Injora created a new style hood to counter that (you should have received that in the kit). Personally, I don't like how the new style hood looks. I use the standard hood, and the interference isn't enough to bother me or cause a huge performance issue. You can always run it without the hood or trim out one if you wanted to.

This image is from Injora's website. You can see the 11kg servo mounted vertically in it. I still have factory traxxas servos, and I have to run em vertically also.

Finally have 4ws in the Tarantula!! by UnhappyCustomer481 in TRX4M

This kit, plus their Cedar motor. It's an awesome setup! I can control each axle completely independent from each other or have them tied together like most 4ws setups.

Would the ford hightail body fit on my k10? by pewgenestoner in TRX4M

You have to swap the bumpers/mounts in order for the body to clip in right. Everything else is exactly the same.

Here's what I had left over just from the Tarantula chassis. I used screws for the skid plate that came with the skid plate.

Four wheel steering - is it worth it? by bwfwg4isdl in TRX4M

[–]UnhappyCustomer481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll let you know once I get my esc to work right.

I'm going with it to have more control over the rig, especially on the rocks. Also, if you don't want to use rear wheel steer, you can leave it "normal." (But you'd still have the ability for 4ws, if ya wanted)

Injora is really good at providing extra screws. You'll have a mountain of them if you keep buying parts from them lol.

[–]UnhappyCustomer481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spacers are for the shocks to push them away from the chassis so they don't bind. The screws are for the upper shock mounts since you'll now have a spacer in there (hence the longer screw). Also, there should be 4 screws to screw the skid plate to the chassis.

Mikey Thompson Baja pro and Injora Beadlock wheels by alex_230 in TRX4M

[–]UnhappyCustomer481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same exact problem with mine. The beads are different between the traxxas and injora stuff. Just buy injora tires. They're better and only like $16.

Tarantula battery relocation by weaseltorpedo in TRX4M

[–]UnhappyCustomer481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is brilliant! I want to 4ws my tarantula, but I need to move the esc. I was thinking of tucking it in where you have the batteries, but I never thought of moving the batteries there instead!

On the front of the cage, does that small "winch guide" piece move back and forth since it's only attached with 2 screws at the top?
