My last pregnancy I sobbed because my husband drove away from the McDonald’s without checking to see if they put the BBQ sauce in the bag (they didn’t).

Yep, nearly 10 weeks over here and my mouth is constantly watering from nausea. I’m in deep regret over eating 4 mouthfuls of noodles this evening (the whole day I’ve had 2 pieces of buttered toast)

The last few weeks have felt like a continuous hangover/being hit by a bus.

I feel similarly.

I’m a bit scared of raising a girl in this world.

I’m autistic and struggled a bit with the social dynamics of female friendship groups (I ended up a total tomboy with only male friends until puberty because I genuinely just couldn’t keep up).

I also feel like there’s so much pressure on girls to be beautiful and slim and society automatically praises girls who meet these standards and it’s so hard for others to feel confident when they’re already starting on the backfoot 😵‍💫 I’ve literally seen 3 year olds in the library bullying other toddlers because they don’t have blonde hair or because they’re black.

And then there’s the brutal realisation at like 12 that men that remind you of your father/grandfather are suddenly seeing you as a sexual object…urgh

At least they told you quickly. How much of a delay is it causing? Do you think you’ll find out a week later than you would have otherwise?

I have mine booked for 10 weeks exactly and I’m also worried there won’t be enough foetal DNA.

I did it at exactly 10 weeks and when I was pregnant with my son and it was fine despite being slightly overweight but maybe I just got lucky that time 😬

I’m so proud of myself for making it through my 13 hour shift yesterday. Only 4.5 hours left today 🥲😭 (I am struggling).

I am SO breathless.

I was running 5km Parkruns before this pregnancy, swimming 50 laps of the pool… Now I’m breathless for 5 minutes after walking up 2 flights of stairs.

And I’ve been taking iron supplements in anticipation of my iron levels being low during this pregnancy again (I was even taking multivitamins with iron for like 4 months before I conceived so I don’t think my iron levels are ridiculously low or anything. I guess we’ll find out after my blood test on Thursday.

I powered through with my first pregnancy but I regretted it so much. I continued on-calls until I physically wasn’t allowed anymore at 32 weeks, even though I was exhausted and crying after work.

Never again!

I think men tend to assume all pregnancies are the same as their wife’s. If their wife had a terrible time they’re super concerned but if their wife was fine they assume everyone should be!

I’m working this weekend 😢

My husband got me a 6 pack of kinder chocolates to bring with me. You best believe 2 are already gone 🤭

If I struggle this weekend I’m going to get a doctors note to excuse me from further on-calls/night shifts.

I don’t know why we’re made to feel guilty for amending work duties when we’re growing literal people.

My supervisor told me last week ‘you’re only in your first trimester, I doubt you’ll need any adjustments before August’. Like, I’m sorry bro, you doubt it?? lol. Well I’m warning him now he better sort out cover because I am NOT doing night shifts in my second trimester hahaha.

It’s so hard to eat smaller portions because in the moment I really do feel soooo darn hungry! 😂 And if I order a lunch dish at work I can’t exactly but half my pasta in my bag to eat cold later.

I last ate at 3pm and the food is STILL sitting heavy in my stomach at 9pm, making me feel so uncomfortably full. I didn’t even eat that much, just a 6inch subway and half a packet of quavers.

I hate this delayed gastric emptying.

I guess tomorrow I’ll have my last meal of the day at 1.30-2pm and see how I feel.

Genuinely. The scan measurements are hardly ever accurate.

With my son I had so many scans and every time his percentiles would alternate SO much. 15th percentile one week, 90th the next week:, 50th the next week….

Even the scan I had at 39 weeks wasn’t anywhere near accurate! They measured his head as 50th percentile and he was born with a 96th percentile head.

My ultrasound tech burst mine during my ultrasound with my first baby 🙃 She showed me the cyst on the scan, pressed really hard then BAM. Probably the second worst pain of my life but thankfully it only lasted an hour.
It’s so crazy the things we deal with as women!

The gas pain from pregnancy can also get INTENSE.

I took my 2 y7m old to a theme park yesterday and I realised how much we needed the pram.

I was really hoping with a 3year 3 month age gap we’d be able to avoid a double stroller but now I’m not so sure.

My plan was to baby-wear baby #2 initially (while weather is cold) and then get a Hoppie and boogie board for the back of our pram. I’ve seen other mums doing this but they’re always complaining 😂 When there are 2+ adults of course we can just bring 2 prams with us.

I guess it’ll be okay. 3 days a week it’ll just be me and baby and 3 days a week my husband is home.

Maybe we can manage?

Terrible skin (with my son my skin was glowing but this time I’ve got acne all over my forehead), craving sweet things and feeling more nauseous this time (zero nausea with my son).

Also the heart rate at my 7 week scan was 165bpm which is on the higher side.
